So, this is really not something I say when in the middle of a workout, but I am loving the results from her 30 day shred!!! I am currently on day 15 (L2D5). So far I have only noticed about a 4 pound loss, but the toning is absolutely amazing!!! I am down inches pretty much all over!!!

Here is to the next 15 days!!! Then onto Insanity!!!!

Good job!!! It's great when a plan comes together. I get the feeling I might be doing level 1 twice. Started it last night and got 12 minutes through, and I was modifying everything....LOL By the second round, my goal is to not be modifying and to do the whole thing :P

I can't wait to start the 30-day shred! Is it the only workout you're doing or do you add something else? Just curious, because my exercise goals are currently at 60 min/day 6 days a week, and I'm not sure if I should lower them or do another workout.

When I did The Shred I would do some light cardio as well like walking or jogging later in the day.

Usually, I will do the shred, then get on my gazelle with my ipod for an hour doing about 5mph. Its weird though, because lately I crave the exercise and the alone time with my ipod...I'm crazy like that I guess, anyhow, has changed my whole outlook on life!

I thought that I would have been doing level one twice as well, but I think by the 5/6th day on levels one it got progressively easier! So I pushed forward, now I am thinking the same thing about level 2, but last night seemed easier than the night before :)

Thanks, I can't imagine only working out 25 minutes a day. As hard as that workout is, I've just ended up with more energy the couple of times I've done it now. I'd feel completely lazy if I didn't do anything else. I understand about the craving exercise and alone time, though. It's kind of comforting when the world is blocked out and it's just you, your workout, and music.
  • I can't say I love her but I do love her results!! (lol) Ya'll should try her "Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism." Its a lot like "Shred" but longer. You will be cursing and sweating but its an amazing work-out.
btw, I was just on her site and she's got a new dvd "Shred it, with weights;" if anyone gets it, can you post your thoughts on it?
Have a great day, MFP :)
  • I'm with ya! Love her 30 day shred! I do a variety of exercises, some days it's Jillian, other days I do P90 or different treadmill workouts. I am currently on level 2, but I mix it up with other cardio workouts too. She kicks my butt and I get a great workout, but I have a hard time doing only the 25-30 minutes....feels like I'm not quite done so I add to it. You're SO right about the toning...nice to see definition again!
  • Ok, you all talked me into it. I just bought the dvd on Amazon lol. I hope I do as well !!

I've got Banish Fat and No More Trouble Zones as they're part of a workout challenge I'm doing in October on MFP ( http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/122455-october-2010-jillian-michaels-30-day-slim-down-challenge?page=1 ). I haven't tried either yet, just did the 30 DS L1 twice this week to see what I was getting myself into, but I'll let you know how I feel about it after I try it.

I have her new DVD and am enjoying it. It's a kettlebell workout, and I started with a 10 lb kettlebell. I've been doing level 1 for a week or 2 now and it's a lot of fun. The workout goes by really quickly - the 25 minutes seems to fly by. It's killer on the hamstrings! The workout itself is really different from her other DVDs, although it's still circuits. I'd recommend it.

BTW, I too love JM. I had AWESOME results from the 30 Day Shred and have since done her 30 Day Slimdown plan. I'm totally addicted to her workouts!
  • I just have to say that I IDOLIZE Jillian!!!! HOWEVER, she hurts me!! I do even a portion of one of her videos (I have six of them), and I cannot walk for 3 days!! I have to try to modify a little more, because it stands in the way of a regular routine. But I like the fact that her moves are so "old school" and you don't spend time just trying to master the moves like in some other aerobic videos. Also, I did martial arts for 4 years, and it is the best all-over workout, and it is the base of Jillian's training.

I love the results I got from the Shred... However my idolization of her went out the window when she became a "GoDaddy Girl". Anyone who thinks that is a GOOD and POSITIVE thing is just nuts.

If you like her DVDs you should try Bob Harper's. Much longer and more intense - and I was saying that before JM sold out. I do laugh at the fact that he actually says on one of them "10 minute workout? 20 minute workout? You know what that is? That's a warm up!" Can't help but wonder if he's got the Shred in mind when he says that.

    What's a "GoDaddy Girl"?

GoDaddy as a company tends to be pretty chauvinistic and masochistic. It's essentially a website domain factory, but ALL their advertisements feature scantily clad women - usually some form of celebrity. Think Hooters for websites. It just made me lose quite a bit of respect for her that she'd sell out to a company like that.
  • Oh! Thanks for explaining! I have never seen that, that I know of!! That sucks, cuz she is a really strong woman and a good rolemodel otherwise!

Wow!...Seriously!?!? I didn't know she became a GoDaddy Girl. ICK! That actually bums me out. :(
I plan on getting more of her DVDs because her workouts rock....but you've got me intrigued about Bob now. I'll have to get some of his DVDs too...
