Does anybody use an HRM while doing the 30 Day Shred? I'm just curious on how much calories are actualy burnt while following this DVD.

Thanks :flowerforyou:

I tried it with a HRM last night--MFP said for 'circuit training' for 20 minutes I'd burn over 350 calories. I monitored it with my HRM and I burned right over 300 for the intervals, not counting the warm up and cool down.

It depends on so many things. Your own height, weight, sex will change the cals, as well as how much effort you put into it.

I typically burned between 200-250 calories. I am 5'3" and was 150-155 at the time.

I've also seen a difference in cals burned if I did something else beforehand. If I jump on the elliptical for 20 minutes, then do the shred, I burn more doing the shred than simply just the shred.

Everything that Shamrock14 said AND as you get more "in shape" you are going to burn less doing the same activity. So if your goal is to get an estimate of calories burned for you personally, this isn't going to help. Sure it will give you an approximate but for your fitness level, weight, height, etc you should invest in a HRM. I am so glad I did :)
  • I am 141 lbs and for one session I burn only 104 calories. I deducted my resting before that figure. 1.5 cal per min worked.

Yeah, I didn't do that either in my numbers, so even less after all is taken into consideration.
