HBP meds NO MORE!

Late March 2012: In-home assessment for additional life insurance. Nurse took my BP twice in both arms; lowest was 200/140!!! MAJOR wake up call! I was already a couple of week into researching a new primary care physician (PCP), but this forced me to make a decision and go for a visit.
2 days later, I'm in the doctor's office and after multiple BP checks, all were in the 140s/upper-90s. A far cry from 2 days prior, but still worrisome. (In retrospect, I think the insurance nurse used a too small cuff.) This was the start of my weight loss journey. I knew for 2 decades that I wanted to lose weight, but didn't want to yo-yo diet so I procrastinated and waiting for that 'golden moment'. Well, this was the needed epiphany!
He wanted to prescribe HBP meds immediately but I fought him off for more that 5 mos to try to lower my HBP naturally (weight loss, exercise, diet changes, etc.) I lost about 25 lbs during that time, but BP stayed steady. Finally, I surrendered and took the BP meds. I also joined MFP around this time. Went through several med changes as they were initially ineffective at their intended purpose (did PEE a lot though!) Finally in Nov 2012 we found a combo that worked and I was on it ever since.
Soon after, I started having major BP drops after intense cardio (e.g. treadmill). It would get down to 80s/50s and stay there for 2+ hours. I convinced the doc to let me take half-dose (pill-splitter); that seemed make it a little better.
After many months of normal BP with a half-dose, I emailed asking to temporarily suspend and see whether the meds were still necessary, especially since I had lost >50# since 1st visit. I was given the OK with the note that it'll take up to 2 weeks to leave my system. I hit the 3 week mark yesterday with normal BP readings. I emailed the results yesterday... 90 minutes ago I got the reply... and I quote... "Yes this means that you may suspend your blood pressure medication indefinitely. YAY!!!"

Excuse me for a moment as I celebrate by doing "The Elaine"!
