Hunger Pangs

I guess is what you would call it.
okay so ive started my new 1540 calorie a day plan and is it normal to be hungry all the time!, i mean i know i'm consuming half of what i use to eat but i swear my stomach is just constantly growling.
Will my body adapt to my new intake?

    Perhaps open your diary so we could make some suggestions? One thing to consider is what you're eating exactly. A taco bell burrito is 750 calories but it'll keep me full for a few hours. If I eat a greek yogurt with some nuts and chia seeds I feel full much longer at a lot less calories. Also, how much weight do you have to lose? You can probably lose on a lot more than 1500 calories.

    The first couple days are usually a little rough. You could try to get some exercise, then when you add that to your diary it gives you some more calories to eat, make this process more bearable.

    Try to incorporate some additional lean protein to your meals, it may help you feel fuller longer. Also try to avoid refined sugars as they tend to causes a blood sugar spike and drop, causing hunger and cravings.

    Do you currently have it set to lose 1lb per week? If not, I'd suggest that. But at 1540 calories, you probably have it set to 1lb per week already.

    Make sure you're making the most of the calories you eat. Full fat dairy, nuts, oils, proteins will keep you feeling satiated much longer than carbs and processed foods. It takes about 3 weeks for your body to fully adjust to a new eating regime but drinking lots of water can help stave off those hungries as well as having some low calorie veggie snacks throughout the day.

    The first days are always the worst. You just got to get through them. I figured my stomach had to shrink and only had 800 calories for the first two days. Then I upped the calories and enjoyed my smaller meals. I also ate every 2 hours at first. It really helped me with the hunger. Warm tea also helps and drinking lots of water with your meals.

    I feel ya. I am a foodie and constantly think and plan about what to eat the entire day LOL This does not help with hunger at all:)
    Keep yourself busy, drink loads of water,coffee,tea? eat full fat stuff as someone mentioned above..fats and proteins keep you fuller longer. eat when hungry. For me i am usually not hungry in the morning, so i have a light breakfast and save calories for rest of the day. But do try to make it to goal calories everyday.
    I have been at this for 6 months and am still constantly hungry and i eat throughout the day. Maybe spreading your meals also could help?

    ETA: I love food so much that i try to work out whenever i can just so i get more calories to eat;) maybe try that too LOL

    I'm doing 45 min of cardio 5 days a week, i drink plenty of water, no soda
    and when i entered my weight and what i wanted to lose, MFP has it at 2lbs per week

    Make sure you log your cardio are eat at least 80% of the calories it gives you as sometimes MFP overestimates calorie burns a little. =)

    If you are still struggling with hunger, try changing your weight loss to 1.5lbs per week for awhile.

    Hang in there, is does get better. My hunger dragon lasted for exactly two weeks, then I was fine. Some of that was my body getting used to less food, some of that was experimenting with what foods made me feel full and satisfied but fit in my plan.

    My salvation in the first couple of weeks was planning for a piece of whole wheat toast w/ a carefully measured tablespoon (I weighed it!) of peanut butter for breakfast. VERY satisfying for me, but everyone is different. Generally speaking protein is better at suppressing hunger pangs for longer than carbs, make sure your carbs are high fiber ones. (Lower fiber carbs i.e. sugar, starch, don't have much lasting power for most people).
