I finally get it. I'm not fat any more

FINALLY!

I've been wondering when what I've achieved with my body overhaul would 'click' in my head. This week my doc pointed out i have lost over 20% of my body weight and that started it.

This morning i grabbed the wrong jeans accidentally. I grabbed my ultimate goal jeans. I've kept them since I was 21, 11 years now. I've gotten into them once before but they weren't comfortable. Today, they fit perfectly.

I get it now. I finally see it. I'm no longer fat. In fact, I'm the same size I was when I was the smallest I've been, even though I weigh a little more now. That will go!

Finally, I can see the last few kilograms as 'finetuning'. Finally I can feel the pride and the sense of achievement that's been evading me. I don't know how long the 'click;' has been developing for...but it's here.

I'm not fat any more :D

I feel like those might be a thing of the past. This is really...different. I'm excited but at peace with it, like it's my new reality

this is a great post!! huge congratulations to you,

I'm in a similar position, 2kg away from my goal & 20% of bodyweight lost; I flirt with the satisifed & happy thoughts but am still a 'fat anorexic' in that when I look in the mirror I still see a fat person :( , even though I'm not.

think I'll spend my next few walks repeating 'I am slim' as a mantra & see if it sinks in :)

I also suffer from looking in the mirror and seeing a fat person - it has taken me buying a pair of jeans I never thought I would get in to for me to also realise I am not fat anymore :D

Congrats on your epiphany moment and for treating your body to being healthy.

    Lovely post.

It's just great that you grabbed the 'dream jeans' by mistake - then they fitted perfectly. Would love to have seen your face at that moment. How long before it sank in? lol

    Congratulations, you've earned it! xx

I was like that until today... in fact last week I was despairing that i'd never see myself as anything other than fat and unfit!

it would have been comical to watch. They're 90's Levis, bootcut and higher rise than I'm used to. I was like why is there so much fabric around my ankles? (used to skinnies), then 'what is happening around my waist? and so on. took a few mins to get it!

Congratulations!! That's very exciting. Can you show us a pre and post pictures (if you don't mind, of course!)? It would be very inspirational! I hope to one day be able to fit into my high school jeans again.. I'll get there!! Good work!!
  • Congrats :)!!! I don't have the courage to try to slide into my size 5's lol. To think I was a size 3 when I was 13! HA! But I'm glad you realized what you achieved now and not a year and 20 lbs from now looking at pictures saying "damn it I did lose weight and everyone saw it but me!". I did that to myself last year, but I swear I wont do it this time. EVERYONE tells me I lost weight, i'll believe them this time lol
