Hi all, I'm new here but I used this app. abt. 6 years ago and had great success with it. Used it on my cell at the time. But I wanted to ask if anyone here has to take Blood Pressure and / or Acid Reflex medications? I ask because while I have some formal education on Fitness, and general education in exercise , fitness , Running, Walking, elliptical exercise. while trying to accomplish this I've seen problems with the above BP and Acid Reflex so I've been on assigned medications that gave me much trouble in the side effects department. Anyone else have problems with muscle and joint pain from these medications?

Just wanted to make a note that if you find these medications have strong to severe side effects with them , depending on your health, condition and medication strength, you will definitely find the more you exercise with anaerobic exercise where you are breathing deep to heavy for at least 10 to 20 minutes a day, you will find this routine advantageous in your health control efforts.

  • I have been taking toprol xl for many years and now I am questioning it due to the fact that my muscles have been very weak, sore and painful...I have a hard time walking or standing for very long....dr says auto immune...? Auto immune meds didnt work.....back to the drawing board

I used to have high b.p. and acid reflux also. Lost a lil weight then came off the meds. Never really had any side effects...

I take 50mg Atenolol and find it difficult to get my heart rate up. Although that is the whole reason I am on it because I have a tachycardic heart. So I'm not on it for BP issues. I haven't noticed any abnormal changes in muscle or joint pain. My only side effect from them is occasional blackouts from my BP going too low.
  • I was on BP meds for a long time and hated them. I started running and without telling my doctor, stopped taking the meds. I went in for my checkup and he said "wow... we're going to need to cut your dose down... your BP looks great!".

I just smiled when I told him i'd been off them for 2 months.

I dont recommend this, of course. Talk to your doctor.

I was on Toprol XL when I started about a year ago. The weight loss was enough to make my BP return to normal, so the doc gave me the okay to stop it. I still have to take Nexium every day, because my stomach is just a butt like that. If you are getting muscle pain and you think it's due to your BP med you need to tell the doc immediately so they can advise you as to what to do. It could be unrelated, could be relatively unimportant or it could be a serious side effect.

I have found that since taking bp medication I have stiffer joints that feel weaker in the morning. I still push myself to exercise though, helps. Losing weight helps too. Most of all my medication makes me severely thirsty. I drink 120oz+ daily of water and am still thirsty.
