I can't be un-healthy one more day!! I'm only 36 and feel like crap. I have numerous health issues that are directly linked to being overweight. I always put others needs before mine and I think it's time to start being a little bit "selfish" and take care of me. I need all the help I can get :) here's where I stand..

Sw-around 260ish
Goal weight- 170
5'7"

Add me please!

When I started I had about 180lbs to lose, and I'm half way there now. You are worth it! Your health should be one of your top priorities, even if you do have kids, family obligations or other time/emotionally consuming things in your life. Who is going to be around if you're not, to take care of yourself/your family? It's time to change! For me it couldn't have come at a better time.

Remember the need to care for yourself or you may not be able to care for those you love. It can be difficult, I know.
  • Thank you all!
  • I know how you feel!! I could also use some friends. I look forward to helping one another on this journey :-)

This is very common for women - always taking care of others. I've been doing it forever, and I'm trying to schedule in my exercise time and time for cooking right. If you can take care of yourself better, you will be a better person for those others. Best of luck! I'll add you too.

As a wife and mother, I always put my family first and myself 4th or 5th, but I am learning to say no and becoming a little selfish. This is the only way I find the time to take care of me.

I so can relate to what you're sayin - we are constantly in the habit of putting the needs of others first and then we become frustrated and a little resentful, well I know I do being a mum of three sons. Good on you for realising this and for having enough of your current situation and wanting to do something about it. Good luck to you :flowerforyou:

You can do this. Just sent a friend request.
  • Woke up on a Sunday, and all I wanted to do was go for a LONG walk with my dog, but then in the back ground I heard the two loves of life, my son and my husband, "What's for breakfast". I said without a doubt in my mind, "Open the frig, I'll be back in an hour". They can survive. If you don't stand up for yourself, and what you need, no one else will. Guilt, as bad as it is, is sometimes just part of life. Take care of yourself first.....everything else will fall into place.

you can do this! You are not being selfish! You are doing this for the right reasons. If I can give advice is have fun with this! Losing weight wont happen over night, you will fall but always get back up. Find some sort of exercise you can stick with. Good luck!

I can so relate. I don't have children at home but I told my husband I am not cooking all summer when I first started losing weight and I didn't!. It was time to take care of me. That give me a running start and he took care of himself and boy did I feel selfish but I had to. Now I have lost about 50 lbs, he lost 40 and I cook now but in the beginning it was all about me. I am so glad I did that an hubby did not mind. We do it to ourselves. These size 10 clothes feel good compared to size 16!

Hi Im 43 started in Jan at 219 and now low of 184. You can do it too.
  • If they don't want to eat what you eat you have to take care of yourself. My husband won't eat fish or a lot of veggies. He is a meat & potatoes guy and pizza!! I want to loose weight he says he hasn't gained & he is fine so I focus more on me now even more so. My mom had triple by pas over this past winter & has lost 52 lbs!! She does my fitnespal. My dad now it's the same meals as her. She always cooked well & does now but it's only 9-10 of fat a day!! Her food is tasty too!!!
