Deep fried lasagna. Just take a moment to let that sink in. We're going to the fair on Saturday and I'm looking at the vendor map and this is one of the food places. It's got to be a million calories a slice but one of those things you can't just skip right? lol. What kind of fried goodness have you had? I think I once had a deep fried oreo or snickers, don't remember.....

Deep fried BUTTER. Yep, you heard right. Deep. Fried. Butter. So awesome.0

I had deep fried samoas (girl scout cookies for those unfamiliar) at the state fair last year. They are batter fried and served drizzled with chocolate, caramel, and toasted coconut. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. Most people rave about them but I'll stick to eating the cookies the way they come, haha.
You can get deep fried butter and deep fried beer at the fair here as well. Never tried it myself but it's pretty interesting, hehe.0 -
One thanksgiving we deep fried a turkey, which turned out spectacular. But of course, having a giant tub of boiling oil around a bunch of tipsy big men is never a good idea, so we whipped up a quick batter and made a run to the cornerstore for "dippables". We battered and fried everything we could get our hands on.
The winner - deep fried Wagon wheels. OMG, they were the freakin' bomb....0 -

I have wondered about this. The thought of just eating butter doesn't sound appealing.0 -

Just a little write-up about what it's like:
To make fried butter, the butter itself needs to have an outer coating, or shell, if you will — something that can withstand the bubbling cauldron of the deep fryer.
“I mean, butter by itself does not taste good,” Gonzales said. “Nobody just grabs a stick of butter and eats it. That would be gross.”
So here’s what Gonzales does: He takes 100 percent pure butter, whips it until it is light and fluffy, freezes it, then surrounds it with dough. The butter-laden dough balls are then dropped into the deep fryer.
For purists who just want the unadulterated taste of butter, Gonzales serves up plain-butter versions of his creation. For others who want a little more pizzazz, he offers three additional versions with flavored butters: garlic, grape or cherry.
“When you taste it, it really does taste like a hot roll with butter,” said Sue Gooding, spokeswoman for the State Fair of Texas. “It tastes great.”
“It’s like a mix between a biscuit or a croissant that is just stuffed to the gills with butter on the inside,” Gonzales said. “I think that’s the best way to describe it.”
An order of fried butter will get you three or four pieces of piping-hot dough in a little cardboard boat.
“Any more than that and I think it would be a little bit too much,” Gonzales said. “A little bit too rich.”0 -

We don't seem to get those types of foods at the fair. Just the normal fries, cotton candy, elephant ears, and turkey legs.
Hungry now. I really want to try a deep-fried Oreo, but don't want to make them myself because I only want ONE, lol.0 -

We always deep fry our turkey for Thanksgiving - and like you mentioned, when everyone has been drinking we try to fry up as many things as possible. I think the winner was a fried pb&j sandwich.0 -

I haven't tried it yet but yesterday I saw a pin on Pinterest for toasted marshmallows dipped in Baileys. Oh my goodness did those look good! Not sure how many of them I could get away with before it would be bad to have flaming marshmallows around but in the name of science I am willing to research the subject!0
