Work-out routine to shrink butt and thighs

Hi everyone. I am just getting back into my exercise regime and want to lose 10 lbs but also tone. I have always carried all my weight in my butt/thighs and I am hoping to shrink and tone that area. Anyone find that a particular work-out worked well in this particular area? Thanks!

spot reduction doesn't exist; you can't pick & choose where you're going to lose fat. go on a diet and do squats, and in a few months things will look a lot better.

Keflexx is right, you can't really choose, but I'd think that some activities like Ballet (lots of plies) would tone your lower regions fairly well. Maybe try some of the more dancey types of workouts. Pole dancing is also apparently really awesome for whole body toning (I did it once at a party and couldn't stand up for a week afterwards) so maybe give that a try if there's a studio near you.

There's also the possibility that you're just a bit larger in those regions. My cousin has that problem - she's a size 10 on top and her *kitten* is an 18, but she looks awesome. So maybe just roll with it.

The Blogilates Bubble Butt workout is good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faQ9lkjiRaM

Most of the work I've done though is from the stair machine and squats

I honestly hope the people giving you exercise advice realize that fat loss is a function of a calorie deficit, not exercise, and that you can't spot reduce, and that they are just giving advice on fun exercises that can strengthen the muscles in the butt and thighs. :flowerforyou:

    Shakeweight.
  • Thanks everyone. I find when I do lose weight I feel I become too skinny top wise. The junk in the trunk tends to stay the same. So perhaps my goal should be toning/gaining muscle rather than losing weight? I have been doing brazil butt lift workout but 50 min everyday of various types of squats is a bit too much for me squat wise.
