Refinance from h*ll

Trying to refinance our house for 2 months now. Tried to close by end of August but the bank wasn't ready. Paid $400 for an appraisal. Loan all set to close tonight at 7pm. Up until then, we were told no closing costs. Then, Friday afternoon they tell me it will be $2600, which we don't have. Then it is gonna be $400, then it is $700. :noway: This morning they tell me it is going to be $600. Then they realize their math was "off" and it is $1100 (which we cannot afford) So frustrated, stomach in knots. Not trusting them to give me a good figure at this point. I am frustrated, want to just scream, then eat a big piece of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and weep. I hate money issues that are out of my control, feeling helpless on this. I just don't know what to do. I hate our current mortgage holder and feel like all this work has been for nothing. Anyone in the banking industry who can give me any advice? or just encouragement? thanks

    how horrible!!!!
    we are mortgage free.
  • Very sorry for the troubles. I don't have much advice other than have faith. If you want to have chocolate cake, try taking a chocolate cake mix & add a 15oz can of pumpkin with it. Mix & bake on high at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. It is healthier & you don't have to feel anywhere as guilty. Put it in the recipe section and that way it will give you exact details on how much calories, fat, etc. Big internet hug & prayers for you.

I work at a bank doing mortgages. First off, a typical refinance will take about 45-60 days, so that is normal. Closing costs and bottom line figures are two different things. Ask to see a copy of your settlement statement before closing so u can review it. If they are telling u no closing costs then there should be some type of credit on there.

Message me if u have any questions on it!

Good luck and try no to eat the cake!

Thanks all for the supportive messages. We closed on the loan last night at 7pm. Paid $800 to close, so I am pretty broke now, but they had to pay escrow up front, so I will get back the escrow from the old bank, that will help. Did not have chocolate cake, but did have fudgsicles last night and had a great walk before the papers were signed.
  • Congrats on closing. Broke is being an adult I have found out. LOL At least you have that much behind you.:flowerforyou:
