I went to Scooby and calculated my TDEE. I can't even imagine eating 1700 cals a day. Right now, I'm getting 1100 and struggling to lose weight. is is really possible to eat THAT much and lose meaningful lbs?

To be blunt, you gained weight somehow, so eating at 1700cal and above cannot be THAT difficult. Yes, it is possible to lose weight on 1700cal if it is below your TDEE. If you are struggling to eat 1700 every day, then perhaps you need to add in some food that is calorie dense, such as a nut butter.0

Yes, it really is possible to lose while eating 1700 calories a day. Assuming, of course, that you estimated your TDEE accurately and don't have any medical issues.
If you truly can't eat that much, look for calorie dense foods that will add a lot of calories for very little food volume. Nuts, nut butters, olive oil, eggs, full fat dairy, Greek yogurt, cheese, avocado, coconut oil, etc. Add fruit juices and protein shakes and smoothies. There are a lot of ways to increase each meal by just a few hundred calories without packing your stomach full.0 -
Eventually low calorie backfires trust me, just make the jump and you'll be golden. Now, some people drop weight instantly others like myself fluctuate for a week to a month and than weight comes right off. Scooby tdee is fairly accurate btw0

I've been losing and my goal is 1650 right now. It all depends on how active you are and how much you have to lose, but as a whole, if you're burning 2000+ calories a day, it's much healthier not to have a huge calorie deficit.0

I do find this stuff slightly confusing but isn't TDEE maintaining weight and to lose don't you need to eat at a deficit of TDEE such as 20% below?
That would then make your calories to lose would be 13600 -
Thank you all for your responses.0
