Sports, sports, and more sports! You can get into sports clubs for VERY low cost, and equipment is cheap. You can buy a $30 tennis racquet, a $3 can of balls and you and other friends can hit any number of free parks with courts. AND there is a health benefit. Hiking is the same.

    Worthy and not costly.

Do you have an elevator you can visit? http://meyerweb.com/other/humor/elevator.html

    Or you could visit Wal-Mart..http://fly2dasky.wordpress.com/2006/03/29/101-fun-things-to-do-at-wal-mart/

Seriously though, I could think of a million things that I need or want to do that don't cost money, but don't have the time to do them. Including but not limited to:

Sell a lot of this crap in my house
Clean my pig sty of a house
    Catch up laundry
Fix my now weed garden into an actual flower garden
    Clean the attic out
Organize my music and actually put it on my iPhone
    Catch up Quicken
    Shave my legs
    Cut and stack some firewood
    Play some video games
    Learn a second language
    Watch some movies
    Read some books
    Volunteer at an animal shelter

Well if you like gaming get Steam on your computer-- tons of free games. If you like reading, hang out at a library. Take up learning a new language. Craft. Learn to change your car oil. Waste your life away reading old firejoemorgan.com & regretsy.com posts. And go read Goon. It's not free, but comics are cheap enough.

Go shopping, fill your cart with things you want, then just leave the store. Still feels like you went shopping, right? Right?

    Hi everyone,

I have been spending way too much money lately. I want to start paying off my credit card before the holiday season comes up, but I need some ideas of things I can do that don't cost a lot. My ideas so far are:

-Eat at home, make cafe drinks at home
    -Re-organize iPod music library
-have a movie night at home on the weekend instead of going out
-Read the books I have instead of buying new ones.

Please give me your money saving ideas!! :) Or ways to have fun without spending anything. THANKS !

Hey it all depends what you are into for activities, like go for a bike ride with your kids or just your husband. go for a picnic, movie night, candle light dinner, watch the stars at night, each night you could always do something different, have a game night, card games or board games or Xbox Kinect is my fave. there's lots of things to do that is helpful and affordable. walking through your neighborhood talking about the future. learning a new skill, take some classes, watch utube, learn how to cook, or etc. walk down to the beach, relax with a candle,

Clean out your stuff you don't use and sell it on ebay or craigslist or have a yard sale (make money to buy things you want or to pay off cc debt faster)
    hiking at local parks
    biking
    walking
    getting books from the library
watching movies on anything you already pay for such as NetFlix, cable or satellite
playing board or computer games you already have (have a game night with friends)
work on home projects you've put off (could be repairs or as simple as cleaning out that spare bedroom)
    mall walking/window shopping
meeting friends for a walking date
volunteering your time at a hospital, nursing home, or any non-profit organization

Go on Pinterest and find some new crafts to do with common household items and find some new recipes while you're at it

Find a place to volunteer your time. It's usually pretty fun and you feel great afterwards. It's a great way to make friends.

I have a new one.. make outfits on polyvore instead of going clothes shopping. See if you can recreate the look on a budget or at the thrift shop.

Create a tumblr or pinterest of inspirational quotes and images (stuff that is non-material related and won't make you want to shop)

I'm recently single as of a couple months ago so...the first "Ya know" is out of the question.

You can always "ya know" alone. Not as fun as "ya know" with someone else though.....ya know?

    bike rides
    hikes
    rollerblading
    groupon activities
    downtown people watching
    movies
    board games
thrift store shopping (very little money is spent)
I'm always looking for free events online. If you have a local free paper (ours is the Westword) there are usually events and freebies listed.

Go to the library. You can rent books and DVD's for free. They usually have the recent releases too!

I was totally about to say the library thing.(walk if it is close enough)

Go to a park and get in a good run.

    Get in some volunteer time.

Hike because fall has some beautiful things going on.

See if your gas company(gng does) gives discounts for things or if local museums/zoos have free days for your county(in GA they do).

I am loving these... here are some more I came up with

-Treat your city like you are a tourist there
-Travel the world with Couch Surfing (I'm too anxious for this)
    -Color in a coloring book
-Dance to Zumba or do yoga to videos from youtube

My public library rents eBooks through a service called OverDrive Digital Library. I've read so many books since I discovered this. There is also a music download service called Freegal which provides free music for those with participating library cards. (You can only download a certain number of songs per week, though.)
