ok,
so I am doing great staying under my goals for all my other things except for sugars?! I need some help finding some low sugar food items. If anyone could help me please reply! And if you want to add me I just started this up again and could really use the motivation!
Thanks In Advance!

How many carb heavy items are you eating (breads, pastas, rices etc.)? How about fruits? Even though fruit are super good for you in a lot of ways, they have a ton of sugar in them.0
-
you are by no means chunky. maybe give an idea of what you're eating that is too high in sugar...so you can get feedback on what you already like to eat. maybe you can modify how you are prepping it. honey and agave are both sweet and pretty good for you0
-
Unless you have a medical reason to monitor your sugar intake, don't worry about it.
Just in case you weren't aware of this feature, when you go to the message boards section, there is a button called search and you can type in a keyword/phrase (ex: sugar) and you can see the threads that have already been created on the topic. Good luck! :flowerforyou:

What adini said. Manage your macros, not you micros. That sugar recommendation is based on the WHO's recommendation for added/refined sugar given the mass consumption of 32 oz big gulps and such.0
-
I Don't eat many carbs, usually a tortilla wrap with chicken for lunch. and a little feta cheese. only fruit is a banana.0
-
I think my problem is that I don't really have much idea of what i SHOULD eat. im mainly just counting calories.0
-
that's quite an impressive list lol0
-
If you're concerned about sugar, take a look at any dairy intake. Milk has a lot more sugar in it than you would think. But I agree with the others that if you're hitting your calorie goal and macros, don't worry about it--especially if it fruit. Fruit is awesome! :flowerforyou:0
-
Look into 1200 calorie ADA food plans . They probably have them on the American Diabetic Association website. They are the original basis for Weight Watchers. Then keep any additional calories balanced. Be sure you are eating a variety and hitting all your food groups. Drink plenty of water. Stay away from canned fruits unless they are in their own juice, moderately use juices and avoid soft drinks, regular and diet .0

my sugar almost always goes over even though everything else is way under, and i swear I barely have any sugar the most sugary thing i can think of is one glass of squash!so think the sugar recommendation might be set v low...0
-
Start with your macros - set your calories and then adjust your goals/macros. For example, I set my carbs between 40-45%, Protein 30-35%, and then fat as the remainder. My sodium I set at 2500, sugars at 30, and fiber at 20. MFP will guide you through the goals as you have already seen, but I think they set the carbs high and we know that carbs break down as sugar.0

thanks everyone, i changed it so that i don't see them. everything else is under so i know i am doing good. just gotta eat healthy!0

FIRST step is to take ALL LOW FAT ITEMS OUT OF YOUR DIET...... Anything low-fat WILL have extra calories for the taste. Check your labels. That was a biggie for me. AND a shocker. Fake coffee creamers--use real stuff whenever possible. REAL butter REAL cream REAL REAL REAL...I have also changed my yogurt to Greek yogurt and that took a few as well. Look at spaghetti sauces and check for the low sugar ones. They sneak sugar in everywhere--is why we bulging !!0
-
Unless you have health issues with sugars, I wouldn't worry too much about sugars. You will continue losing weight if you follow a few simple rules:
1. DO NOT eat unless you are hungry.
2. Eat ONLY until you are satisfied...not Stuffed & full!
3. ALWAYS sip on water or sugar free drinks while you are eating.
If you follow these simple rules you WILL lose weight...no matter what you are eating! I've already lost 23 pounds using this guideline. Good Luck!0 -
