Weight Gain Explanation?

Hi! I posted on my status and got a few great and helpful comments, but I am also asking others too!
On Friday, the 6th, I weighed in at 122 lbs. On Saturday I weighed in at 123.8 lbs. and today, Tuesday, I weighed in at 125 lbs.
I added all my calories together: I ate a total of 8,856 calories total over the 4 days. If I subtracted what I would be maintaining (bmr) at which is 1500 calories and exercise calories, that would put me with an extra 2072 calories.
So roughly, over the last few days the scale has shown an increase of 3 lbs. but I have only eaten roughly a pounds worth of calories.
I UNDERSTAND, that I did not gain all of this weight, but WHY?
I am a 21 year old girl, and my period is non-existent and my hormone levels tested normal, so I know it is not TOM!
Thoughts?

It's probably water retention. If you recently picked up exercising, your muscles will retain water to repair your muscles. If you've had alot of sodium recently, you'll retain water. Also, weight loss isn't linear. Some weeks will be up and some will be down. The closer you are to your goal weight, the harder/slower your loss will be.0

My weight ranges 7 pounds within a given day. Don't stress over such small variations.0

It's probably muscle. You go, girl!0

You are freaking out over 3 pounds? Weight fluctuation is completely normal……relax.0

Your hormone levels are okay but your period is non-existent?0

Based on this you didn't even eat a pound worth of food over since your BMR is what you burn without doing anything. Even a sedentary person will burn 1.2 times their BMR. If you are exercising that would be an even higher multiplier. There are a whole bunch of possibilities from not measuring carefully enough so your actual food consumed is more than you think, to simple water retention for various reasons.0

It's not muscle over that short of time - it's water. Weigh yourself ONCE a week, no more.0

Weighing in daily will make you crazy. Pick one day a week you will weigh in. Same time, every time. If the scale is up when you logically know it can't be up, then ignore the number. If you absolutely cannot ingnore the number, maybe weigh in for a day or two after to comfort yourself that the phony weight is gone. Then go back to weighing in on your same day at the same time.
Today is my one year anniversary on MFP. I've been at goal weight since late March.
Trust me on this one.0 -

Oh yeah, and this ^^^^ too. If your period has gone bye-bye due to anything but hormone related birth control, your body fat is too low. If this is the case, you have bigger problems I suspect....0 -
I have roughly 25% body fat and I had a hormone test done yesterday and all was normal.0

Are you pregnant?0 -
Do you track your sodium levels? I'm in the same boat as you, was 122 and now I'm up to 125 but it's because I've been going way over on my sodium the last few days. For me, that really makes a big difference in weight fluctuations.0

Just curious...how tall are you?0
