What is on your grocery list? We're doing a major shopping trip today (to get thinks to last a few weeks) and im so sick of getting the same things.

so whats on your list? What should I add to mine? right now i just have milk, eggs, cheese, bread, ground beef, chicken, porn chops, and tortillas

    I'm finding that as of late about 50% of my list is produce--sweet peppers, broccoli, lettuce, carrots, celery, and onions are like staples in my kitchen. I also tend to buy a lot of yogurt, and tuna is my fallback (it's already cooked and it's super versatile).

    My list is similar to yours, but include salad and veg, eggs, fish...whatever is on special that I can make into a meal basically. I do many different things with the minced beef and chicken.

    Minced beef - Shepherds pie, chilli, spaghetti bolognaise, meatballs, burgers, kebabs (like kofte kebabs)

    Chicken - dry fried tandoori chicken strips, curry, casserole...this list is endless to be honest

    I think boredom is a big diet breaker so vary it as much as you can, experiment and have fun trying new ideas.

    I always get lots of fruit (blackberries, bananas, apples, cantaloupe, etc), baby carrots (make a good snack), Naked Juice (one bottle gives you about 3-5 servings of fruit depending on the type), chicken (it's very versatile), healthy snacks (pretzels, granola bars, breakfast bars, apple sauce, etc), cereal, different sauces or marinades, salad fixings, veggies to go with meals (corn, bell peppers, green beans, avocado, etc.)

    I have a 3 year old so we get snacks and things for him too...but that is a lot of the healthy stuff I get. I do a lot of different things with chicken and pork and steaks. I always hit the eat clearance meat section and grab some thin steaks and things to stock the freezer.     I start out with a menu and then write my grocery list from it,
    I have a master menu that has about 45 dinners and 10 lunches on it and then I pick from it to write my menu, and then you know what you are fixing all week.
    I really don't like trying to figure out what we are going to have that night, and it also helps me mix up the meals better.

    Try paying attention when people post new recipes on here. I have really expanded my eating style from reading and using some of the recipes seen in the message boards.

    I've added avocado, red cabbage, spinach, zucchini, cottage cheese and fish to my diet recently and love the variety. Cottage cheese is good with just some pepper or mixed with a flavoured yogourt or fresh fruit.

    i make salads all week with the chicken blue cheese cranberries and have chicken also for dinner with rice
    kashi is great in yogurt

    Peanut butter!!!!
    I like to get frozen chicken breasts, or buy bulk ground beef to portion and stash in my freezer. Dried fruit is good... Pasta and rice... Beans... Nuts... Oh, pumpkin is in season, maybe some cans of pumpkin? I keep a bunch of bags of frozen veggies in my fridge at any given time. Frozen turkey meatballs are also nice to have for those quick pasta dinners (or meatball subs!!).

    It's actually really hard to think of things that last a long time because most of the food I get comes from produce or the dairy isle so I really need to go to the store every week. I constantly have bananas, apples, carrots, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, and yellow peppers on hand. If the season permits I also have berries, watermelon, oranges/clementines, star fruit, plums, cherries... you name it!

    I think I need to pick up some of these porn chops! ;)

    I have stopped buying ground beef and buy ground turkey now instead. I can sub it in without anyone noticing and its healthier. This has gotten us to maybe 1 meal of red meat a week, which is nice. I also buy lots of frozen veggies and bagged salads because they are fast ways to add veggies to our diet, plus I can easily stick them in my lunch without having to plan much. I love the Kraft line of olive oil salad dressings, they taste great and a little goes a long way.

    Porn chops...funny. My wife has me on more of chicken and fish. Last night an hour before my cardio run i had opah moonfish and it was great. I also get alot of carrots and apples and such. I always alot alittle more calories for dinner since im unsure how many calories are in the bakery bread we get.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one to do this. I even have my grocery list typed by aisle! Takes a little time at the beginning, but saves so much time and money each week. Not as tempted by things in the store.

    Our grocery list changes depending on the time of the month in relation to pay day ^_^ at the minute we're on a lean spell monetarily speaking so our last food shopping list (from friday) was;

    Baby new potatoes
    Brocoli florettes
    Carrots (these are our staple veg; we have them with every meal)
    Apples
    Bannanas or Oranges (unfortunately beggars cannot be choosers lol)
    2 Small steaks (this is our saturday night treat)
    Diced Turkey Thigh (300g of this baby is much cheaper than 200g chicken breast!)
    Packet dried caserole mix
    Box of 2 mini pizzas
    Breaded chicken breast
    Box of 4x chicken and vegetable pie
    Milk
    Bran Flakes
    2x tin soup
    Bread rolls
    Instant noodles

    Plus sundries. I know it doesn't look particularly healthy and there are a few processed things but this is just to get us through the hard times financially and let's face it, all those processed foods have their calories printed on the sides of the boxes so we can keep quite happily within our calorie counts. On a more affluent week, the pizzas and breaded chicken breast would be replaced with fresh chicken breast and there would be more veggies ie peppers, onions, sweet potatoes, leeks etc. And of course there are weeks when we need to buy a little extra, so for example this week we didnt need to buy olive oil or herbs for cooking, partly because there's no need this week partly because we already have them in the cupboard ^_^ having different herbs and spices to hand is so useful for livening up a meal...try making a lemon chicken by marinading fresh chicken breast for 2 - 12 hours in a home made marinade of lemon juice from 1 lemon plus the zest, a couple of tbsp's olive oil, and herbs and spices to taste. I like paprika and garlic for mine.

    Case of strawberries
    veggies:
    2 packs of steamble brocolli cuts
    I also bought pizza fixings in which i consumed..>.<

    celery hearts, broccoli crowns, athenos hummus, light whole wheat english muffins, laughing cow cheese wedges, fiber one frosted mini wheats(i just found these this last week and they're delicious), fat free half and half, fat free cottage cheese, whatever fruit looks good (cantalope, strawberries, apples) wasa crackers
