It's that dreaded number "13" & I'm not feeling the BURN!

I started my journey (for the second time) on Saturday 30 August 2013 and only joined MFP last week Wednesday 04th September 2013. In that time (30th August - 11th September), I've managed to loose 4Lbs, which I am quite overjoyed about.
Problem is........today.......I have ZERO motivation to get my butt into the gym. Could it be that today is the dreaded day Thirteen?
I no longer hurt all over either, and I like that feeling of sore muscles but for some reason it is just not happening anymore and I am left feeling like I have not trained hard enough which demotivates me. I want to burn!!!!!
So in a nutshell, should I change my programme slightly, should I stick to the same?
I have been increasing reps and weight by about 10% per week (okay this is only week 2), unyet I still don't feel sore after my training session.
Help!

I can't be hard on myself. What I do is take my time getting fit and then I appreciate what is happening to my body. I work hard one day and take the next day off. If I keep ripping my muscles they will never develop. If I don't eat the right things I won't lose weight so I try to keep it simple and not put too many expectations on myself.0

Ugh! I wish I had some self control.... and I wish I was not so hard on myself. I have been training consistently for the last 12 days non-stop and I think I might be a bit tired.... Okay 2-days was actually Sailing which in my opinion does not burn much especially if there is no wind and not much work to do whilst sailing. BUT, having said that, I suppose it is still exercise.
I am just so scared that if I let ONE day slip, I'll be beat.
I'm one of those "all or nothing" gals.0 -
As you get used to lifting, you don't get that sore feeling for the most part. At most, I get a little bit of tightness and fatigue in my muscles the day after a particulalry good workout, but the burning soreness isn't there anymore because my body is used to the motions, even if it is more weight than ever before. Don't use soreness as a judge for whether the workout was effective. If you are lifting heavy, you really need to give yourself time off to heal. If you refuse to take time off, you need to at least be careful to make sure not to work the same major muscle groups multiple days in a row. Overtraining is not good and can lead to injuries that can sideline your exercise routine for weeks. Take care of your body.0

Thanks so much. Yes, perhaps that why I just don't feel like gym today..... I feel tired, not sore, just tired.
I try and stick to the following
Day 1 - Upper Body
Day 2 - Cardio
Day 3 - Lower Body
Day 4 - Cardio
Day 5 - Upper Body
Day 6 - Cardio
Day 7 - Rest
Day 8 - Lower Body
etc. etc.0 -

Your body is going through some huge changes - of course you're tired! Best advice I can give you is to give every day your 100% but - and here's the important bit - your 100% can vary from day to day! I'm big into Zumba, and on some days my 100% is jumping all around like a mad person, while on others, depending on what I've eaten, how much work sucked that day, where I am in my cycle, etc, my 100% could be a lot less. But it's always my best shot - I push myself as hard as I can and I don't beat myself up if I don't hit the same spot on the bar all the time, because I know I worked to that day's full potential.
It sounds like your routine is a good one, and I'm glad you've got a rest day in there. Your tiredness is probably your body's way of saying "dude, it wasn't like this before...hang on..." - but force yourself through it, keep it steady, and know that your body WILL catch up, and you won't always be so tired. ^_^
Best of luck!0 -

Three Things
1) Realize we are all not perfect and if things seem to not be going your way never quit; youll figure it out
2) Dont be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and do things you never thought you would do to get the results you want.
3) Always go HAM as much as you can without injuring yourself.0 -
I've been on MFP for a little over a month, and what helps me at the gym is that I do all my reps and sets, then start over like circuit training and lift to failure on each machine that I've been working on for that day good luck!0
