Hi I'm a female, 18 years old, 5'9, and less than 140 (not too sure about the weight) anyways I've been eating less than 1000 calories a day for a while now it's become a habit and I don't know what to do. I just read about starvation mode and if I go back to eating regular I'll gain all the weight back. I eat extremely healthy. I get my daily intake of fiber,I eat tons of vegetables and fruit, fiber one, cheerios, and I only drink almond milk and water. I don't feel sluggish and I stand most of the day due to my job and other hobbies. I don't know if I should go back to eating normal and if I did I dont know where to start. I would really like some informative input on what to do and where to go from here, thanks.

What are your goals? Do you want to lose weight, maintain, put on muscle? That info will determine how you approach this situation. You're absolutely not eating enough, though. That's too low for the vast majority of adults.

So where are your healthy fats and protein coming from? You aren't getting any from what you say you are eating. You will end up hormonal problems.. hair falling out, not being able to have children because your periods have gone, heart problems etc etc etc..

You have to eat more. Up your calories 100 calories a week and include protein and good fats like olive oil or coconut oil till you reach what you should be eating. If you add it slowly you won't gain like you might if you up it all at once.

Read this so you know what to do..

All of this. You really need to eat more. Up the calories slowly, but up them. Your diet doesn't sound "extremely healthy" to me...just extreme. Best wishes. :flowerforyou:

Try researching "reverse dieting". Its often used for fitness competitors to up their calorie intake after shows (where they were on very low calorie diets) generally its increasing your macro #s by a certain amount each week so your body has a chance to get used to eating more.

You need to figure out your TDEE. This website has the info you need.

    My advice, listen to mockchoc

I have been undereating as well (1200-1500 a day) and now upped it to a healthy 2000 (bit above BMR and about TDEE-25%) and i still loose weight, about 0,50 - 1 kg a week for last 3 weeks

You may find it scary to up your calorie but i can ASSURE you that you are not getting your daily intake, even if you think you do

This! You may think you feel good now, but upping your cals and really feeding your body will make you feel awesome!!!

i just posted my story in success stories.. i don't really want to rewrite it. I'm still trying to eat enough.. but I was eating less then 800 calories a day when I started here.. It's not healthy.

You can do it. Just slowly increase until you are at where you need to be. You might feel ok now, but one day you're going to wake up and not be ok.

It's a journey and the only way to complete it is one step forward at a time.

Step 1 is starting and developing goals. Seems you have done this! Good job!
Step 2 is eating right. This is where you are now. You can do it!
Step 3 is adding in exercise
Step 4 is refining diet/exercise to reach your goal.
    Step 5 is maintenance

You will get there. Just read read read, learn learn learn and if something isn't working, try something else.
