Hi,
I've got a super Spartan in just over a week. I wear glasses and the fall off when I'm doing my circuit training/boot camp. I'm so worried that they will fall off in the Spartan a d then i wont be able to see much at all. I do have contacts but haven't ever tired wearing them for rigorous exercise. I suppose the alternative would be to get those elastics that keep glasses on...
What did you do? Was wearing contacts glasses ok for your obstacle race?
Help!! :S

should say contacts or glasses at the end0 -
I generally wear my contacts...if I happen to wear my glasses I just wear the elastic strap to keep them on...but I do most things in contacts.0

I wear glasses and have only worked out with them 2x. It sucks. They constantly slip off and won't stay put. I now wear contacts and have never had any problems with them.0

Thanks! I think it would be wiser to wear the contacts considering your responses. It would be far less hassle to lose a contact rather than my glasses + then i could just run with one eye shut and still sort of see lol. I might look a bit mental though!0

Take them to Walmart or some optical place and have them tightened and fitted so they don't fall off. That's what I would do.0
-
Contact lenses would probably be best in this situation x0

I wear my contacts, can't stand exercising in glasses, I'm naughty and even swim in them.0

get them tightened to fit better and fit some sort of chain in case they do fall off. Contacts good but might be a pain if you get mud in your eyes0

I have never had my glasses fall off. I'd freak if they did, I can't see two feet infront of me! Anyway, I agree with the two suggestions, get them readjusted and get an elastic band to keep them on. As for contacts, since you don't normally wear them, they might be a henderence to you, ie, drying out, moving around, or dirt getting into them.0

I left my glasses in the car for my Spartan Sprint but I can see fairly OK with out them (just a little depth perception issue) on of my teammates wore hers for the sprint and had no issues.
I haven't done a super though so I can't really say. If you have contacts you might want to wear them and save yourself any worry!0 -
Getting them tightened is a good idea! But yes as i don't often wear my contacts they might give me irritation issues but i guess I'd rather have minor bother with that than not be able to see if i lost my glasses.
Such a small thing to cause such deliberation! I once went to an incubus gig (in the days when they rocked) and gad my glasses smashed off my face. That was not pleasant, having to fight my way out of the pit, the building and then get home from London on the tubes and trains not being able to see.
i might wear contacts and then take my small waist belt to take my old beat up glasses in (with some spare contacts and energy shots for me and my sister ) ^_^0 -

swim in them! Your eyes are made of sterner stuff than mine lol!0 -
For my first tough mudder I wore my contacts( which I usually don't) and wore a pair of goggles for the mud and water obstacles. Since then I've had LASIK ....best decision ever!0

I'd love to do that one day (the rough mudder and the LASIK, plans for the tough mudder next year)0 -
train with the contacts in while you got a week and make sure they feel good. glasses on the side is never a bad idea. Try Rx sport goggles in the future if the contacts bug you?0
