I've heard you can use honey or agave nectar but i've never personally tried it...I usually add a little bit of chocolate and cinnamon0

Equal or Sweet & Low.
Other than that, there really aren't any options.
Raw sugar is no better.0 -
Also, looking at your diary, the scone and half cup of milk you had at breakfast along with the teaspoon of sugar may be better places to cut back 15 calories. Maybe go to Timmy's instead of Starbucks and get an egg white, ham, and cheese on an English muffin instead of a scone. Saves you 150 calories.0

I would use honey or agave nectar. I used to HAVE to have cream and sugar. I drink it black now. Having said that, if I really wanted sugar, I'd have it. It's only 16 calories.0

Also, if the single teaspoon of sugar isn't doing it for you, you could combine sugar with artificial sweeteners. In a 16-ounce coffee I typically use two teaspoons of sugar and two packets of Splenda. Much better than Splenda alone, and only 30 calories.0

I'm in the same boat. 4 tsp with my coffee ( it is not a calorie thing, but that is almost the daily requirements for sugar.) perhaps this is what the OP is talking about?0

I read a few message boards ago - that you might try say, vanilla protein powder in your coffee. just a bit (not a whole scoop obviously) - but that way you get flavor + benefit.....haven't tried myself to know first hand - but read that and found it interesting idea...0

Flavored creamer. The kind made with real sugar.0

Try adding cinnamon.0

Eat it with a doughnut? :drinker:0

Xylitol
(a natural sweetener not artificial)
It won't save you calories or carbs but it isn't sugar anyway, if that's what you're worried about.0 -
I've cut back my calories on a lot of things and feel sugar in my coffee is the treat for me. I only drink two cups per day so that's 30 calories. I'd rather cut out on other things then give that up.
My understanding is if you keep cutting back on all the things you love then it's easier to break the good behaviour as we get fed up with it.
Just my take on that.0 -
The worst my coffee tastes, the less of it I drink, haha. Sometimes I drink it black. But really though, I started putting a tiny bit of honey and sprinkle some cinnamon in my cup of joe if I'm in the mood for some flavor. Other than that, I use a teaspoon or 2 of sugar and a little almond milk.0

Xylitol does occur in nature, but it appears to be produced artificially.0 -

You should look at this:

I mix a 37g scoop of vanilla whey protein into 12oz of water in a small tumbler and use that as my cream/sweetner instead of the milk and sugar I used to use. You can sweeten and cream 3 to 4 12oz coffees with that, depending on your taste and preference. That one scoop of powder is 170 cals and gives me 26g of protein over all, only 7g of carbs and 2g of sugar. I've never really been a breakfast eater so that is my meal replacement since coffee is a must have! I can still budget food into my total cals if I am hungry, but my protein usually keeps me full and satisfied.0
