Stress eaters

Stressed? I eat. Bored? I eat. Upset? I eat.
Anyone else? I sure could use some help right now! I recently lost my very busy, hectic, stressful job. (Blessing in disguise really!) And now i'm stressed (Gotta support my family!) bored (Home all day, when im used to going non stop) and upset (because I still am not sure why I lost the job- they refused to give me a reason and I have never gotten in trouble for doing anything wrong).

I feel like a mess. And to top it off I weighed in yesterday after not weighing in for weeks, and I've gained 4 pounds. Which...well. My eating went to crap over a month ago. Always on the go, very busy with work = too many days in the drive thru line at lunch. Stressful job = tend to equal weight gain anyways. and no gym in...only God knows how long. So really 4 pounds isnt too bad. But I NEED to get back on track. When I was hired for that job I lost my motivation and focus (It all went into my new job, I let myself go as far as taking care of me) I canceled my gym membership right before I got canned and now I regret it but...I'll take this time to start over. Regain my focus and start with my eating and counting calories.

I need some new friends and some new inspiration! Im starting with buying a new scale today and I will weigh in 2x a week. 1 that I'll actual record and the other I'll do mid week just to make sure i'm staying on track.

Anyone want to join me? I have 3 kiddos who keep my very busy but I'm so ready to get this weight loss ball rolling once again!

    Hey! Sorry to hear you're having such a hard time of it. I eat when I'm upset or stressed too. Having not worked much over the summer (I'm a teacher), weight loss was relatively easy, but after 1 week back at school I've just sat here watching a film and polished off a bar of chocolate and a large glass of wine. Not to mention the 4 biscuits I had earlier!!

    There's a saying 'Just for today' - 'just for today I will not be angry, just for today I will do my work honestly, etc' - my adaptation is 'Just for today I am aiming for 9st 5lbs and a size 10 (UK). That usually motivates me! And if I have cheat days, well tomorrow is a brand new day, and nobody died because I ate a chocolate bar!

    I love the "Just for today". that was my focus the day I was fired. It was the day before my baby's first birthday party and I just had to keep saying "Just for today I'll not care that im now unemployed." "Just for today I'll laugh and be happy and not stress about what will happen". It worked. Now I need to apply it to my weigh loss goals! :)
