Hi! I am a 32 year old mom of a 5 year old and will be a foster parent in about a month! Due to medical issues I was tested for Celiac Disease and I figured I had it so I stuffed myself with as much gluten-filled food as I could since I thought i'd have to do without for the rest of my life...well, apparently I don't have this disease so I weigh more than I EVER have! I even weigh more than I did when I was 9mos. pregnant with my son! I just feel yucky most of the time, so i'm ready to get this extra weight off!!!

    Hello,

well, I can't blame you for wanting to enjoy the food :)
But now that you want to get that weight off, I can only suggest pick a work out program (if you have time to go to the gym that's good, if you don't do something like P90X at home), set a goal and stick to it. The most important thing is to stay strong and consistent.
I really liked P90X. You have a schedule on your fridge that says exactly what you need to do, and they provide you with a meal plan for the whole week, plus recipes. It helps people stay focused.
If you don,t want to invest that money in P90X, there are other (cheaper) DVD's that you can do, or just go running, biking and swimming.
For food, I can suggest to eat a lot of fish, chicken, brown rice, veggies, maybe sometimes have a protein shake for lunch, and eat something every 3 hours. Great snacks are string cheese, turkey jerkey, soy nuts, bananas, boiled egg.

I wish you good luck :)

You did exactly what i would have done! But what's done is done. You can't change that now. What you can do is start your journey to a healthier you. Take a look around the site. There are helpful tools here. I like being able to know the calories and things in my food without having to figure it all out by myself. There are many very supportive people here who will make you smile. This is a positive place to begin your new life :)
    Congrats on your first step!

Well there is lots of good news in your case. It's great that you don't have Celiacs. You would have made yourself really sick. Also you are making a new start to get fit. You can do it. Having extra weight makes us ALL feel Yucky. But the great news is we all can do something about it if we want. make small changes at first. Don't beat yourself up. From here on out it should be a lifestyle change. Start with small steps and make changes every day. The weight will come off before you know it. Congrats on your new start.
