Hypnosis - does anyone have experience with it? (:

Hey there! As the title states, I was wondering if anyone has experiences with this (from therapists to phone apps, just spill it!). I am not looking into using it as a little wonderpotion to lose weight, but I thought it might support exercise and a healthy diet. I often have trouble keeping my mind set to things and tend to give up very easy.
If not - what are your tricks to keep your mind set to your goals?

I have used hypnosis recordings on my phone and also been to a hypnotherapist before for another issue. It works really well for some people, for others, it is less effective. It works well for me.
On my phone, or iPod, I like Erick Brown hypnosis; he has many programs that I've found to be very effective. I used to have issues with picking my skin, and there was even one for that that worked really well for me.
He also has several for dieting, health, weight loss, and fitness motivation. I have some of them, and have listened to them. I don't listen to them anymore because I've now established good habits that I don't need to work hard to maintain (kind of in the groove, already, so to speak). However, I know they are there and can be helpful if I have a specific issue I want to work on more.
There are also some more general ones for stress relief that are almost more meditative. I use these ones more frequently, and they keep my general stress level lower which helps me avoid stress eating and emotional eating, which used to be problems for me.
There are also ones for general motivation, if that is an issue for you. There are many options; I'd suggest trying one or two and figure out how they work for you, and if you like it, keep doing it. Like I said, it works better for some people than others.0 -
Hi there,
I am a clinical hypnotherapist and I see people for weight-loss quite a bit and have had a lot of success. I don't do "hynobanding", as I imagine this doesn't work for everyone and you're not really treating the root of the issue.
Usually with weight loss, we discuss the motivation for losing weight and focus on that, I also focus on raising confidence and self-esteem, and help people feel more in control. If weight has been triggered (or is triggered) by emotional issues, we look at addressing them first.
One thing I would say is, I don't know what area you live in, but make sure the hypnotherapist is registered to the NCH (National council of hypnotherapists). You can find people on their website. They are very strict, keep all their hypnotherapists monitored and supervised and make sure they are fully qualified and bona fide.

I can't say for myself but my uncle had it done and the transformation was incredible. It mostly seems to help you make better food choices and suppress cravings for high-calorie foods. My uncle rarely ate his greens and other colorful vegetables before and now they make up the majority of what he eats. He's lost quite a bit of weight but I am not sure what else he has been doing (i.e. if calorie counting is involved or if he is just making better food choices). I do know he has tried a lot of other programs and this is the first thing that has really worked for him.0

You might consider trying hypnosis. I’m a hypnosis nut and audio nerd, and (for me at least) the combination of ambient sounds with spoken word can be super effective and entertaining.

I went to a group hypnosis session in 1989 to try and quit smoking. Left there thinking "wow, did I just get riped off". And am still cigarette free today, 24 years later.0
