I'm 29, 5 ft 10, 224lbs and workout 60 minutes 5x per week in my gym. My TDEE is anywhere from 2500-2900 so I take 2700 as an average. TDEE -20 would therefore be 2160. I eat between 1900-2200 most days.

Question is how do I workout my maintenance number? Is it simply your bmr?

    BMR = calories your body burns before daily activity is added in (so energy used for organs to function properly)

    TDEE = maintenance calories... bmr + daily activity + exercise

    Eating at your BMR would actually cause you to lose weight not maintain. When I switch, I will probably work my way up from my deficit by (an extra 100 or 200 calories added to daily goal each week) until I stop losing weight.

    Your TDEE is your maintenance.

    Oh right ok thank you. I am losing but have stalled recently. Not overly worried but this info will help so thanks again.
