Exercise calories

When I go to the gym I do 45 minutes of cardio exercise and then I do weights and sit ups and lunges. However, when I enter the weights etc to my exercise diary it does not give me any calories - can anyone explain why this is. Surely they must use calories as well as the cardio exercises. Very puzzled.:noway:

Enter "strength training" under the cardio section to get an estimate of calories burned.0

Enter it as "strength training" or "circuit training" and it will add ur calories... The only thing is I wore a HRM for my strength training and it wasn't any where near as many calories as MFP says it was.0

Hi, enter strength training/weightlifting. I would get an HRM because I think the site must be an average. I lift heavy and burn way more calories than the site gives me!!!0

I just wanted to say I found the same thing too. I wear my HRM for all my workouts and weight lifting NEVER burns as much calories for me as cardio.0

Thanks for all the info.0
