P90X/Insanity Logging

How do you guys measure you're average workout burn from this? Do you just relate it to circuit training? Also, I want to start a combination of the programs can you tell me what you think?

Do you have a HRM to use? If so create your exercise that way. Thats how I do it. I just started Focus T25, its a killer in those short 25 mins.
  • I would honestly use the recommended calorie intake outlined in the nutrition guide of your program. That intake accounts for calorie burn from the workout. When you are doing High intensity workouts, under-eating will not yield the results you are looking for. Additionally you should be planning you days meals ahead of time not at the end. This makes it less likely you will cheat and ensures that you are properly fueled throughout the day. I give all the folks I work with a MyFitnessPal, version of the nutrition guide so they understand how to plug in their numbers here for better tracking. Happy to message you with a copy of that if interested. Just shoot me a message here so I'm not spamming you. Good look with your programs!

Since theres really no rest day figure out your TDEE with the workouts built into it and record 1 calorie burned.

I use MFP a bit differently than most. I'm currently doing Rushfit and log the time of the workout with 1 cal burned.
My 1800 cal/day target is actually the minimum I eat everyday. I try to land somewhere between 2000-2300. I rarely see the 'Mark was under his calorie goal message' :)

A few friends go the HRM route of logging the actual burn then eating about 50% of it back. In the end it all depends on how you set your program goals.
