    IMHO...

    Carpet is so 80's and early 90's. Hardwood floors goes with everything. Except for drapes in the crimson family as you always want at least a little matching throw rug to add some character to the comparably blander pallet.

    I like hardwood floors but if you really are looking towards carpet I think that a grey would look good or possibly dark brown or creme. depends on what kinda furniture you have though and what kinda accessories you are gonna have in the room.

    Bare, well waxed floors go with everything. Be sure to use the correct vacuum cleaner hose when maintaining the flooring. Don't want to scratch it up.
