1 week down...hit the miserable stage!

I had my first weekly weigh-in today (it's my second attempt at MFP) and I lost 2.4lbs - YAY! :)
It may well have been more but I'm currently bloated due to...you know...couple days to go...if you get me! (Ladies!)

But here's the thing, I've now started feeling miserable. I was fine for the first 5 days, then my motivation took a nose dive because I'm always hungry and subsequently always thinking about, and counting down to, my next meal/snack.

Has anyone else gone through a miserable spell?

I have on other diets but not here. You are probably over restricting yourself. Get on the internet and find some yummy low cal recipes. Eating Well and Big Oven have some great ones. If you are set for losing 2 pounds a week scale back to 1 pound. There is no reason to be miserable because if you are you will not stick through with the plan.

What Lizzy said. You are probably too restrictive, both with food and calories. How many calories are you eatin a day?

Agree with everyone else. Are you eating back workout calories? Are you doing TDEE-20%? There really is no reason you should be starving while losing weight. There is no way I could stick to a plan that left me feeling like that all day.

Thanks for your replies and advice!!

I'm trying to hit the 1,200 mark but I usually end up just under (not intentionally, it's just down to what I eat and how it adds up).
I've upped it to 1,250 now so that I will definitely hit at least 1,200 every day! I do tend to eat back my exercise calories because I figure, it may as well be a motivator to work out. (I only work out 3 times a week at the moment though)

I must have been totalling well over 1,900 a day before so it's no surprise that my stomach's feeling the pinch haha!

Depending on what workout prgram you are doing or exercise routine...you may really need to up your calories....I was like that when I was only eating 1200 calories...Now I shoot for 1500 calories and if I have a heavy workout day I may eat more. You might need to evaluate your calorie intake.

You probably aren't eating enough. You may be being too restrictive with foods that people call "bad". If you are exercising regularly, most likely you need to up your daily calorie goal or you need to be eating back your exercise calories. If you eat 1200 calories but then are exercising and burn off 200 you are actually only giving your body 1000 calories. That's not enough to keep an active adult going. Your 1200 is already giving you a deficit to lose weight, if you don't eat back your exercise calories you are creating an even larger, unhealthy deficit.

    Haha this made me giggle!

I don't do any sort of crazy or hard-core work outs, but I do log everything and try to eat back so I'm netting 1,200 at least.

Also, thanks for everyone's replies! x
