  • Hi and welcome, if you love cooking and eating then calorie counting is the perfect diet. Its easy to adapt exsisting recipes to make them skinny and you can earn extra cals through exercise so thats a great incentive to actually do it. I love the BBCGoodfood website for recipes.

    Good luck

Im another one that loves to eat! Using the mfp site has made it really easy to lose weight and still eat the foods I love (in moderation). Try modifying some of your recipes and eating smaller portions. The portion control has really helped me. Exercise is also a great way to get some extra calories so you can eat some of the foods you love! Best of luck to you!
  • Ditto all the above! Continue to cook (pretty much) what you want just be careful - low fat marj instead of butter, dressings on the salad for a salad, less carbs etc. I think small portions are the key - I've been eating off a smaller sized plate so I still have a 'full plate' and don't feel deprived (more veggies help tpo). I think it's best not to cut anything out completely as then you'll start to resent it. I see all this not as a 'diet' but just as a change of livestyle - it makes it less daunting.
    Good luck!
  • speaking as someone else with as rather fat bottom, and who loves to cook, I'd say that you can really learn to make delicious food that is lower in calories if you follow this plan and avoid the processed and high crap foods. I've been making some really nice stir fries and curries. I am still really enjoying eating -- but I pay more attention now. Feel free to friend me if you want support:-)

then I shall highfive him instead ;-)

ok. losing stones means you are across the pond and I LOVED the fresh markets over there. I love to use nice chicken breasts and cook a lot with reduced fat feta cheese and balsamic (watch the sodium). oooo - and also pork tenderloin. I cook that in red wine with some onion. Rely on savories as much as possible and make sure your tea times are balanced (I spent my tea times there in the shops with chocolate and biscuits :D)
