Thank You All.

This is the most sincere and emotional post I have made on a forum I am so new to, but I felt the need to make this statement tonight.
In the past I have been through so many struggles with weight. I have followed bad advice and made my own regimes that were seriously harmful to my health, restrictive, and depressing.
I have made a tonne of threads since joining. Looking back some were mortifying, as I really SHOULD have used that search engine, and/or - common sense!! But, I was always given helpful and more importantly, honest answers. Without your advice, I would still be eating at 1200 like MFP set me and would be struggling my way through, becoming demotivated.
I'm now eating at 1400-1500, something which I never thought possible before. The lbs are coming off slowly now like they SHOULD and I finally understand that. And I like it. My body looks far better than it did when I was lighter years ago, as I'm not losing muscle mass.
Thank you all so very much for all advice and concern. This forum gets some stick for having its sarcastic moments, but we need to be told where we are going wrong!! And I certainly appreciate that. I am now a size 6 and will go to TDEE-5% for those last 4lbs until I hit maintenance next year.
Without MFP I would be hitting goal very soon, and go back to old ways thinking this is alright. Now I realise what the lifestyle change truly takes. I will never work so hard to lose and return to " normal " again. I now have the knowledge and am ready to maintain this as best I can. Again, I am so happy. Last night I stretched my leg across my partner and burst into tears with happiness at how slim they are! haha These moments occur constantly and my confidence has shot through the roof. I'm less anxious...about everything!
Yes, I have been here only 70 days this time around. But I can't imagine being without it now.
I so badly wish everybody knew about this place. I almost wish it was mandatory for people to have an account here! The NHS could save so much money, and my friends actually don't believe me when I tell them I eat what I like and when I like. People think weight loss is much harder ( and it IS very hard ) than it has to be. Not with MFP, its actually a joy.
Thanks forum members and for those of you who have helped me realise I can eat more to lose weight.
I dont have any old full body pictures, so I will show you some face pictures to show you the change.

Hard to take in how much my face alone has changed. Being so short, every lb is visible.
Thank you.

Lovely post, and well done on your success.
It never ceases to amaze me how the same people still take the time to help and give advice even after receiving constant criticism and complaints from people who are sensitive to honest answers.0 -

27 replies in 3 days. If the OP was saying how she couldn't stand the people that told her the truth this thread would be on page 18 right now full of AMENs from a bunch of people agree saying that the telling the truth makes one a mean person. But here this girl stands, with her outstanding success story and only a handful of people know about it.
It really speaks volumes about what the whiny people really want out of this site.
Whatever for them. Congrats again to the OP. Keep sharing your success with both the world and the site by letting other people know the truth about losing weight and getting in shape.

Indeed.
And it's stories like hers that are the real payoff...(and probably the *only* real payoff)...for the people who try to help even when the message (or personal tone) isn't always immediately appreciated.
And again, thank you, OP, for closing the loop and sharing not only your success story, but also the process you went through to figure out what worked for you. It's helpful both for those who may find themselves in similar circumstances and for those who continue to try to help others by providing valid, but not always popular, responses.
