Exercise in general

I wake up and do 30 minutes of recumbant bike and then when I get home from work I do 20-30 minutes of elliptical. Is there a better way to get the exercise in when you work 9 hours a day?

The biggest thing is to find something you can stick to long term. Personally, I prefer to spend an hour doing freeweights (I use the stronglifts 5x5 program) three times a week. When I'm on a cut, I'll add some runs as I get free time as well.

If splitting your workout works for you, keep at it. I'd sooner gnaw off my own hand at the wrist than wake up a minute earlier than I already do, so I go to the gym after work and just DVR all the TV shows I miss. You have to do what works for your schedule!

Is your bike and elliptical in front of the tv? I find it is super easy for me to hop on my bike or treadmill during one of my shows or while I'm watching a movie. As long as they're running, I keep moving. And it helps that I'm not focused on the time and how many more minutes I have left.

Yes it is and I find it easier to do with the TV on too. I was told it is better to exercise in the morning but I can't get the full time in and still make it to work. I refuse to get up at 4:00 am to do it! Any suggestions on upper body exercising? I feel like all I am doing is working my legs............

Yep - bike & eliptical are mostly cardio .... with tension settings you can work your legs some

Strength training helps you retain muscle mass .... definitely look to add on (or swap out) .... you don't need cardio everyday

I do weights/ strength training 3x a week. Focus on strength training.

Pinterest has a lot of good ideas for body weight exercises.

I prefer to workout in the gym. I do my weight routine first then if I have time I do some cardio. 2x a week I will do a longer session of cardio. I workout at least 5 days sometimes 6 days a week.

I really dont feel like going there at 5am but thats really my only time and I know myself if i dont do it in the morning I wont workout. Some ppl do better with evening workouts you just gotta figure out what works.

Def focus on some more weight training cut out some of the cardio.

Do you work in an office setting? I've never tried this but I've heard of some people using them at work. Pretty inexpensive. Might be a good way to get that additional half hour at work in the mornings :D
