We're making beef stew for dinner tonight. Im trying to add the recipe to my database but im unsure on how many servings it "should" feed. It's 3 pounds of meat (we love left overs!) and then about 5 medium potatoes (more or less once I cut them and see how much it actually is), about 5+ big carrots, 6-7 sticks of celery, and 1/2 of a lg. onion. does anyone make a similar recipe? How many does it serve for you?

Approx 200g meat per person. If you look it up in the food diary, you should be able to find how many calories it is.

My suggestion is, don't overthink it too much. How much of the finished pot of stew do you put into your bowl when you serve yourself? About a sixth? Then the recipe is six servings. You can weigh and measure it if you feel a need to be precise (and if you find your progress stalling, you may need to), but "close enough" is probably close enough for a meal you're preparing infrequently.

I'd just divide by whatever makes a good amount of calories.

Honestly the only time I used the recipe maker for something (a taco soup), I totally guessed everything. There was no way I was going to weigh a full crockpot of food to check what the serving should be, so it was total guesswork. I had it for a week and still lost weight, so whatever...
