Have not eaten in two days

I've been really sad that I cant eat. I feel sick and tired but Its so hard to gain weight my whole teenage years. When I was 13 yrs old I weighed 100 pounds. (Im 5'3 and 20 years old female) Every year I kept losing weight. I did not do it on purpose and I do not like how I look. I am now 87 pounds and im about to turn 21 next month. I dont know what to do I cant eat and I try to force myself but I can only have a few bites of grapes. I do have acid reflux/gastristis. I feel like this is deafting me. I hate the way I look and I was wondering what I can do to help me. Doctors tell me to take ensure yet that doesnt help. Please help someone.

Go back to the doctors - you need more support than you're getting.

Ask to see a nutritionist or go and see a personal trainer who will also have the knowledge to help build you up.

I came back from this. You can defeat it. You are beautiful within and soon that will shine when you reclaim control.

You can add me as a friend if you like, happy to support and share the things I did to help me out but I stress I'm not a professional nutritionist or trainer. I'm just recovering from my war with food too.

terrible advice any one can call themselves a nutritionist. From the post the Op needs qualified medical advice and support
  • You need a doctor. Whenever someone begins rapidly losing weight without effort it's a sure sign of an underlying medical issue.
What's worrying is not so much your weight and more yor physical inability to eat.
Please seek medical hel as soon as possible. If th first one is of no use then get a new doctor. Thats what they're there for.

You have anorexia. You need a specialist, a psychiatrist, probably medication and possibly to go to one of those refuges.

You can get help for this, it's quite curable, but you have to want to change. Go to your doctor and ask for help with anorexia. :)

Get to the Doctor now on your own two legs, or end up in their care on a stretcher.
  • o sweetie I really feel for you, do you have any idea when your issues with food began?

A friend of mine went through this when she was 18, it was a hard time for her because she wanted to eat but physically couldnt and she was so upset about her body

She went to the Dr and he put her on medication which helped her deal with her issues with food and she put on weight, she is still slim now but a healthy 8 stone

You need to see a Dr and if he doesnt help you ask to see another one, it sounds like you need professional help to deal with this issue but you will still be able to find lots of support on here if you need it

It could be a psychological fear that needs resolving or it could be something that needs medication but only your doctor will know

You have been very brave and should be proud of yourself for being so honest,

Please see your Dr and let us know how you get on

The person was saying you shouldn't advise the OP to go to a nutritionist or a personal trainer. She needs professional medical attention. The OP doesn't need to build up or learn how to eat, the OP has something serious going on and needs to find another doctor.

OP: Please go back to a doctor, not the one telling you to just drink ensure. Find a better one! Find maybe even a gastroenterologist who can also assist with the acid issues.

    ^^^ THIS! NOW!!!
  • I can feel your pain. This is a problem for a therapist. You really need to figure out what benefit you are getting from not eating. There is something blocking you from being healthy, maybe you don't feel worthy of being healthy. That is something you need to be honest with yourself about and have a professional that is very good at their job help you though finding the answers you need. Until you deal with the emotional problem it will be an uphill battle. Good luck in your journey.
