i need helppp.

Can someone look at my food intake for today and tell me if its a good ratio? I am going to be following this meal plan almost everyday trading dinners and lunches occasionally for different meats or fruits.
Am I eating right?
Ive been struggling for a while and I finally made the choice to be fit. I started working out everyday for about 2 months now and that didn't change anything, besides getting better at my workout and just bigger muscles no loss just staying the same. so im changing my diet and if I put in all the work to eat this I don't want to be disappointed in 2 months because I didn't do something right. I already don't drink soda or fast food so I wouldent say I eat unhealthy just too much or the wrong foods?I have to really buckle down its really hard for me to lose. I weigh 170 im 5'7. I work out 30 mins a day mostly elliptical (I have to sit down after my workout or pass out) I change up the workout everyday/ intensity wise. I just started free weights and abs and butt workouts 2-4times a week.
My goal is overall body fat loss.

Weight loss is calories in vs calories out. Period. There is no reason to go on some crazy fad diet where you replace normal meals with fruit or whatever. If you're eating at a deficit, you'll lose weight, period. I didn't see an issue with your food for today, but since it's only one day, I can't really say much because it's about habit, and until you have logged for awhile, it's hard to say much.

Also, if you feel like you're going to pass out after your workout, that's a bad sign. That shouldn't happen.

First, I just want to say, eating the same thing everyday is quite boring and gets old fast. I've been there, done, that.. probably won't do again. I do eat the same foods over a longer period of time, but definitely not daily, unless it's left overs.

Secondly, I see your foods are measured by size/measuring cup. Are you using a food scale? If not, you may want to invest in one. Using measuring cups for solid foods, like meat for example, can be way off on the calorie count. It's best to weigh your food and get more bang for your buck.

Also, don't use the quick add calories. It doesn't count carbs/protein/sodium etc for whatever it is you're eating. You can't have an accurate count of your intake if you're inputting something like that.

And third, eat your exercise calories. You may want to invest in a HRM to get a more accurate look at your burn, but if you don't have a HRM, eat at least half of the calories inputed back. Your body is putting in extra work when you exercise, so it needs to be fueled for that work. I know this sounds counter-productive, but the way MFP works, it already has your deficit built into your goal for you. So eat the extra calories, be merry, lose weight.

    Just my opinion.

You say you're getting bigger muscles, but have no losses. Have you been using a tape measure to track inches lost? It's likely that your muscles aren't getting that much bigger, though you may be losing body fat and revealing what you already have underneath.
  • Hi,
I am new but, I think it is best to say changing my way of eatting instead of diet. I don't see anything wrong with what you are eatting. You might get board with the same and no change. What are you drinking ? Make sure you get your water daily. With the weights you probably building some muscle. Hang in there it will come off.

No I didn't mean im eating only fruit I mean instead of eating strawberries with my oatmeal it might be a peach or banana. Only drinking water and tea. coffee every once ina while. and I haven't been measuring but my clothes kind of tell me im getting bigger from there tightness. I have always had a problem with exercise and unless I push myself to that point I don't get better.
Im not worried about getting bored. I eat the same things basically when I was eating a lot more.
thanks for the hrm suggestion I will get one soon!
also I figured the amount of calories of the meat by the package weight and dividing accordingly.
I don't have a foodscale currently but ill invest in one.
