Hi everyone,
My name is Felicia and I'm new to Fitness Pal. I am ready to get rid of extra weight I've been carrying since I had my daughter. No more excuses and laziness. I just can't seem to get myself motivated to do this. I'm in need of some friends to bring me some encouragement. I really want to lose 50 lbs in 6 months. My problem is resisting temptation to eat junk and fatty foods. How have some of you controlled this? How should I begin this and what kind of exercise regimin is fast and effective?
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Felicia

Welcome Felicia!!!
50 pounds in 6 months is pretty aggressive. Is 50 your total goal weight?
How to avoid all those bad foods? First, You will have moments you slip.
Overall it helps if you have the "ENOUGH" moment. You've had enough of this and you REALLY WANT to lose this weight.
Then you can develop your plan and Stick To It.
Do you have a workout plan yet?
do you live alone or with others? if there is nobody else there Dump all the bad foods. Clear them out and then you can't be tempted. Go out Today and buy fruits, vegetables, some chicken or fish or meat and plan out the next week of meals.
You CAN do this if you're dedicated. Do it for YOU and you can do it0 -
Nancy,
Yes 50 lbs is my total goal. I would be happy to lost even 30 or 40 lbs in that time, but I want to push for 50. I have moments everyday with slipping.
The longest I've went counting calories and eating healthy was maybe 2 weeks. I don't live alone I live with my husband and daughter, so it's gonna be difficult watching them eat.
I've reached that point of I've had enough of this and I really want to stick with it.
I have never done this before I've always been thin until I had a baby, so I have no idea of how to shop and cook healthy.
I wish I could afford a trainer lol! But that is why I joined on here to find people that are in this too. I don't have a workout plan yet, but I want to at least do 1-2 hours daily.0 -
Hi Felicia!
Welcome! It's really important (in my opinion) that when starting a new journey to fitness and wellness, you really need to get rid of all the unhealthy foods that may be tempting to you in your house. Like for me, if I have ice cream in the freezer, I will eat the whole freaking thing in a dew days. I recently got rid of all unhealthy foods in my house and replaced it with better foods. So, if I do have a sweet craving, I will eat my kettle corn that is only 100 calories. ya know what I mean? It's not like you have to get rid of ALL your favorite foods, but you can learn to modify them to make them healthier.
Oh, and I LOVE SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS, i dunno, I just am crazy over it and I love dipping my garlic bread in it. Anyhoo, I made spaghetti squash spaghetti and meatballs the other day and it was so good! So instead of using noodles, I used the spaghetti squash and it looked and tasted almost like the real deal. I also dipped my 'garlic bread' that I had made out of cauliflower (k, i know it sounds freaking disgusting but trust me it's good). See you can still have the yummy foods you like but just modify a little :-) The recipe is on my profile. If you cant find them just let me know and I will send it to you.
I hope that kinda helps0
