MELS = (Motivation, Encouragement, Laughs, and Support)
Hey all! I've been on MyFitnessPal for a while now. However, a lot of my past activity has been done in a manic frenzied attempt to change my whole life in a week. Obviously, that didn't work. But I've learned quite a bit in these past several months and I'm really ready to do what I need to do to live the life I want.
Specifically, I want to play roller derby (hence the screen name). Weight loss is a goal, but it really comes second to just being more than fit enough (endurance, flexibility, core strength, etc.) for the derby world. If I lose weight along the way, fannnnnnntastic!
I do have a short-term weight loss goal of 30 pounds by April 2014. I'm currently 260 and I'm not too happy with the way my body looks. I have no interest in being perceived as "skinny" (not that there's anything wrong with people who want to be or are!) - I love having curves! I just happen to have too many and I have them in the weirdest areas...I mean, my BACK?! Really?!?!
I suppose my long-term weight loss goal is between 75-100 pounds...depending on what I look like in April combined with what the doc recommends.
So let's talk! Beware - this next section reads like a personal dating profile (not that I know anything about that... ):
ME:
-25 years old
-Southern California born, raised, and still living in
-Public transportation/walk-everywhere kinda gal (what?! I'm BROKE!) :brokenheart:
-Has a music playlist for everything (cleaning, walking, working out, sleeping, cooking, etc-ing...)
-Likes football (watching it), Red vs. Blue, and Anne Hathaway
YOU:
-You actually USE MyFitnessPal! I'm trying to get into the habit of using it at least every other day (for now) and I'd like to be surrounded by other who do the same.
-Preferably female/female identified, but guys are cool, too (just don't be creepy - you know what I'm talking about and this is your warning)
-Not bigoted/racist/homophobic/chauvinist (I'm black, queer, and a woman - not to mention I have mental illnesses. And I'm not shy about these things)
-If you are a native English speaker, u dONt tYp3 LyKE dii$. (That was so hard to do! Seriously, things like LOL and haha are okay, but actual words are appreciated. Is that rude??)
-Lastly, I'm not picky about age, race, location, blah, blah, blah....if you're motivated, kind, and ready to go, LET'S DO THIS!
See ya at the salad bar!
