So tonite was not good....ate LOTS and all the wrong types of food. I knew at the time it wasn't smart, but the addicted side of me said, "just do it" while the other side of me was like, "jesus, what are you doing"!
Feeling guilty but at the same time trying to let go. It's done, I need to pick myself up and keep on keeping on.
Any of you just need a binge night? But able to just get back on track right away? I am worried that this eating behavior will never ever go away!

I don't know if this really counts as binging because I think only once did I even go over my TDEE, but yes there are days when I go over my daily goal. Just two days ago I went over by about 300 calories. But interestingly the next day I was under - just didn't feel as hungry plus chose lower calories meals. I find it hard to really overdo it because I know I will have to log it and then I'll feel guilty, lol. That's the beauty of this program.
Anyways, don't beat yourself up over it. Today is a new day, but if it becomes a pattern you'll have to take a look at what is causing it. Once in a while overdoing it is okay. Too much sabotages your efforts.0 -
oh it was binging all right. Started with 3 chocolate chip zucchini muffins, then dinner...which was roasted potatoes (i didn't have very many) and LOTS of BBQ ribs! Then after dishes were done, a homemade chocolate milkshake (which just made me feel super full and it wasn't even all that great)! It was a binge...but the first in 2 weeks...so I guess that's okay. Just as long as it doesn't happen again for a while?
I think my calories for today were about 2800-3000! I know not the end of the world...it's just those voices telling me what an idiot move that was, etc.
I knew I would get great support here.

Just keep in mind that this is a long process. An occasional day going over doesn't have to derail the train, it just has to make you understand what you are doing. You ARE in control.
Keep strong.0 -
I don't have a binge night or cheat day or any other weird terms people come up with, because I look at a weekly average. This allows me to have one (sometimes two) days a week where I can eat higher calorie foods without leaving my deficit.
Example (total calories, not net):
Mon - 2203 (73 calories under)
Tues - 2038 (372 calories under)
Wed - 1565 (61 calories under)
Thurs - 1985 (103 calories under)
Fri - 1698 (322 calories under)
Sat - 1836 (318 calories under)
Sun - 1927 (588 calories over so far)
Under weekly calorie goal by 688 still and I might have some ice cream a little later.0 -
I get what you are saying, but why does it have to be "all or nothing"...like pig out till I feel sick! I hate this disordered eating.0

Hard to say. I think for each person the reason is a little different.
I know last year that I over restricted my diet. I wasn't counting calories, but I would only eat a very select few foods. I did this for about 5-6 months, then I ended up eating over maintenance everyday for about 3-4 months and gained 20 of the about 60lbs I had lost back. I wanted to eat all the food I could until I was so stuffed I wanted to puke. So for me over-restricting caused me to want to eat everything in sight.0
