going over on FAT

Almost daily, I go over on fat. I eat a lot of cheese and nuts. Occasionally avocado. It's not like I'm chowing down on french fries. Should I be worried?

Thanks for that. I haven't had time to read the whole thing but I will. I have my MFP goals set to 40/30/30. Do you think I can assume that if most of my fats are healthy fats (not trans or saturated) and that I'm not eating lots of refined carbs, I'm ok? Most of my carbs come from yogurt and fruit...

If you're comfortable with your food choices, getting some vegetables, coming in around 40/30/30, and feeling fine, then you're doing great.

That's the thing...I'm not. I'm consistently over on fat and under on protein. I'm trying to eat less cheese but I get so HUNGRY.

Oh. Well, eat more protein and reduce your fat to fit your macros. Eating more protein will result in feeling less hungry. :)

Guess I'll have to resort to protein shakes....blech....
  • I eat low fat Greek yogurt to get 12 g if protein in one serving. Also, eggs give protein along with the fat. I am not a big meat fan but I reach my goal on protein every day though other sources. I save the protein shakes for days I am in hurry and then blend them with ice and espresso for something like a frappuccino.

That's a great idea. The thing I hate about protein shakes is the milky taste and consistency. Cutting them with espresso will definitely help!

I would try to eliminate as much cheese as possible. I actually find that if I eat complex carbs this helps my hunger a lot. You do need protein for sure, but carbs are what give you energy and help you function.

Yes, I definitely need to cut down on the cheese. I can't eat a lot of grains so my carbs come mostly from yogurt and fruit. Should eat more beans too I guess.... Thanks for the suggestion!

As far as greek yogurts go..i'm really digging on light& fit. it's only 80 calories :D i'm a huge cottage cheese fan, too..but again that is still dairy. i mostly get my protein from eggs, seafood and chicken.
