It's healthy enough I guess, I'm just stunned it keeps you full that long! I envy you. I have egg on toast at 9 and I'm starving by 12
  • it's not that bad but you do want to switch it up. i sometimes have a yogurt, then around 10 i have an apple with peanutbutter. basically you want to eat breakfast, a mid-morning snack, lunch, a mid-afternoon snack and then dinner.

you want to keep you body sustained so it does not go into starvation mode.

    hope this helps!!

I don't know if I'd say it was unhealthly, but it is pretty high in carbs - and I'm pretty sure that the nutrigrain bars are quite high in sugar. Try to throw some protein in there. What about banana and a pot of yoghurt?

  • thanks for the tips guys,

im lactose intolerant and where i live soya products are not readily available and i can't eat milk yoghurt's!

I also think banana has a lot of carbs but if i eat apple or anything then within a short while i'm hungry again.

i looked at several cereal bars available in the region and i found this one to have the least sugar.

I could take a protein bar but my calorie allowance is only 1200 and usually at the end i notice in my diary it's the protein count that i have gone over

    Hi,

Given that you can't do dairy, then I think you are probably doing pretty well then! I gave up dairy for a year once to try and see if it was my IBS trigger so I know how limiting it can be.

It sounds like you are being quite sensible in your choices and you have done your research on what is best for you, and the fact that it seems to fill you up until lunchtime is a good think. There is little worse than being hungry again only an hour or two after you have eaten.

I guess that as long as it is working for you and you are losing weight, then don't change it.

i also thought Dairy was aggravating my IBS! It turns out i wasn't really suffering from IBS.......was a dairy and egg allergy..
it's been 2 years now so i'm kind of used to it. hope your IBS is better

    Anyways thanks for sharing
