Post-work out headaches and exhaustion

So what's happening to my body when after my workout, I have a pounding headache for at least an hour or so? Sometimes it lasts the entire night.

Usually that happens when you are dehydrated, low on sugar, or low on salt.
ETA: Unless you're doing some pretty intense training, it probably isn't your sodium levels.0 -
Not sure, but are you drinking enough water? I will sometimes get headaches after exercising in the heat if i don't hydrate enough.0

Also, I used to get migraines that were exercise-induced.
Are they so bad that you end up in bed, can't eat, nauseous, sounds and light bother you? Throwing up?
If so, see a doctor. That's a migraine.0 -
Do you have a pre-workout meal with a good amount of protein and carbs? How much water are you taking in daily, especially before your workout? Are you making sure to breathe properly while exercising instead of holding your breath?0

If you have a way to measure your BP following your workout, you might want to do so. It is not so much the way it will increase it during the workout, but if it remains high for a substantial time afterward this sort of symptom might show up. When you described what was happening the first thing I thought of was possible BP issues. If it is well managed with medication it should not be an issue though. Better to check if you can.0
