Liquid Diet........

My doctor and I discussed an all liquid diet for weight loss and because I am having issues digesting food from gall bladder removal surgery. I was just wondering if any one has ever been on an all liquid diet and how it went for you.
Energy Level.....
Fullness....
Mentally Challenging?.......
Anything that might help me make a decision. My doctor told me to ask everyone on here since he is the one who instructed me to use MFP. Since I am on the fence about it he said to ask around and then make a decision.
PS. Feedback is greatly appreciate. I do not however want bashing comments toward myself. I fully trust my doctor and he would not advise something that would be harmful to me. But I am open to hearing negative experiences you all may have had with a liquid diet.

I did a liquid diet for a month. I won't lie - the first couple of days were kindda rough. Hubby made steak the first night (I think just to test me). But that tought me relearn to love cooking and love the smells!
Some people experience really bad headaches the first few days because of the detox. I had it the first day. The only issue I had was when I got off it. It was a bit rough for me entering back into solids without gaining weight.
You're suppose to juice and then drink it right away. I have a day job and juicer at work just isn't gonna happen. I'd store my juice that I would drink at work in a mason jar. Good luck with your research!0 -
I, personally, couldn't do it. Here's why:
1. I had my tonsils out two years ago, and by the end of two weeks of soft foods (not just liquids) I was constantly hungry and grumpy (headaches, mostly).
2. I do liquid juice fasts from time to time - I usually include two protein shakes per day and by day three I am sick of it and ready for a real meal so that's when I end it. Times that I've tried to go longer have resulted in food binges.
3. I hate cleaning my juicer.
4. I love chewing food.
I've never had digestion issues though, so maybe I would be more open to doing it longer if that were the case. This i just my two cents.0 -
DH has done it in the past and he's tried talking me into it as well. I'm willing to do a 2 day detox but that is as long as I'm willing to go. I like to chew my food. I'm a meat and potatoes kinda girl. Even then it was a pain in the rear to be constantly juicing. I felt like I spent more time in the kitchen those 2 days than I normally would on a regular day.
DH claims he's had a better experience but it was more in the way of detox than weight loss.
Good luck with your decision!0
