Hi My name is Mandy and I'm a photographer from Utah.
Just curious if there were other photographers here. I'd love to be friends on here so we can support each other & actually have something in common.

    Does amateur count??

    I have always loved photography and it has always interested me. It's sooo beautiful when you get that perfect shot or feel that perfect feeling while taking or even looking at a certain picture! So, I LOVE IT! hahaah :)

    I have recently begun to actually do pictures for others. (for a very small amount and nothing at all) I have done 3 Senior Picture sessions and 1 Engagement session and I constantly make my siblings, nephews, nieces and friends pose for me. :)
    I want to work on a portfolio.. Who knows??? I'm still young and could do this the rest of my life?

    AND I have just recently found the love of my life and am working hard to buy that beautiful piece of equipment.... a NEW camera of course! LOL.

    I would love to help encourage you to take pictures as well as change your life!

    Pretty good Amatuer here. I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II. I do a lot of blogging and clothing & automotive photography. Urban exploring also brings my camera out to play!

    I am a photographer for a local magazine. Just candid pics from parties and events. Not portraits or anything that actually pays.

    Another amateur here, I have a blog on line and compete in many on line photo challenges, I also do some family shots for friends and am active in the black and white on line. I also use a canon.

    I'm not a professional, but I absolutely LOVE photography, both taking photos and admiring other peoples!

    Saving up for a DSLR and to take a photography course :smile:

    I love shooting people :D especially babies :)

    I've been a photographer for a few years now, but currently it's nothing more than a hobby that i rarely have time for. I was doing it for biz for a while, but i also have a full-time job and a family, so i put my photog career on a back burner for now. i love photography and feel like i can truly be myself when i've got a camera glued to my face :)

    That is great to "meet" so many people. I've been doing photography for about 2 years now. I absolutely LOVE shooting babies & children. That is my specialty. but I don't turn down weddings either..

    OOoo Love this idea for a thread! - Up until last year I was a news videographer for an NBC affiliate in NY, I also take still photos as a hobby. I've done a couple weddings, but they're just not my thing. I really miss a lot about being a photog, but working in the news industry is a whoooole different ballgame - kinda sucked the 'creative fun' out of it at times. So I crossed over to the other side and now work as a dispatcher for police/fire/rescue.

    Kudos on being a videographer. I think that would be a lot harder than a photographer. I am obsessed with watching people's wedding videos. lol.

    I also love photography and have done quite a few shoots for people. I prefer doing family photos out in nature.

    I live on a military base so I mostly do shoots for people before their husbands deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan.

    I'm a hobbyist. Working up the courage to sell my work. I know I do good work, it's just a lot of pressure for me. I'm not comfortable telling people what to do to make their shot look right, you know? I need to work on my people skills. :)

    I've done a couple photo shoots and some club promo stuff for my buddy's studio. But I wouldn't consider myself professional. I looked at going to school there at Weber St. Heard they have a good photography major there. Plus one of my best friends lives in Ogden. But decided on a big city art school instead and just minor in photography.
