Stuck At My Weight For Over 3 months

Hi, I've been stuck at my weight for over 3 months I tried everything, I ate 1200 didn't work, I ate 2300 which is my TDEE %20 and been on it for a week, exercising on stationary bike 1 hour a day.
I'm really tired of this, I don't know why I won't get under 100kg.
Been stuck at 101-102.

I lost weight before at 1200 calories a day then it stopped working so I changed, to TDEE method also didn't work.
What am I doing wrong..

I'm 5'6 btw.

that is a massive jump, how did you get to 1200 as a start anyway?

A week is also rather a short time to judge whether something is working or not.

1200 is definitely too low for you. It's too low for me and I'm a 5' 2" female! I'm not an expert on all this BMR, TDEE stuff but if you go to a website that will work it out for you then you can work out how much you should be eating to lose weight. But most important of all, give it time. You didn't put weight on in two weeks and your not going to lose it in that time. Good luck

I'm in a similar situation. 5'7" and 101kg. I started seven weeks ago at 106kg. My TDEE is 2,300 and I've set my daily limit at 1900 cals to lose about one pound per week. Sounds like 1200 was too low and 2,300 is maintenance. Maybe a daily target of 1800-1900 calories would work better for you.

I also think your calorie intake is too low. If your body senses that you're not getting enough to eat, your metabolism will shut down.
I suggest eating more calories, but healthy calories, more fruit and vegetables, either raw, or cooked without using oil.
I'm doing a raw vegan lifestyle, it's worked well for me, and I feel it's saved my life, I was very ill when I started, and now I'm feeling much better now, even though I have a long way to go...

Info about raw vegan diet: From CBS, The Doctors...

Don't randomly jump your calories around. Walk them down gradually and find out what your TDEE is... you're probably overestimating.
  • Are you only doing the bike you have to change the exercise you are doing. What kind of calories are you eating? I am 171.8 for about three weeks and decided to change up my workout and count my calories to a tee. I will let you know if it works for me. You don't give up !!! I know how you feel but you can do it.

    Open your diary.

And I agree you need to give every change you make 2-3 weeks to settle in.

I agree don't make such big changes.

Since you're at 2300 just stay there. Stay there for three weeks.

Then see what the scale does. If it goes up or stays steady lower calories by 200. If it goes down stick with those calories for now.

Are you only doing the bike you have to change the exercise you are doing. <snip>

You don't need to change your exercise.

I found out my TDEE is 2900 from freedieting.com..
And It says there to fat loss eat 2300 calories
  • I've been the same, I've been stuck at the same weight for three months but I measure my waist etc with a tape measure and that has gone down 4 inches since I stopped losing weight. So it's not necessarily the end of the world. Keep up the good work.
  • Do you weigh everything you eat?

You're 5'6" and you're 101-102 pounds? That's pretty underweight. That might your issue. You can't lose weight because you don't have any weight to lose.

You have to remember these calculators are all estimates. You need to give it time (more than a couple of weeks.) Then if that doesn't work adjust your calories accordingly. It will not happen instantly.

You are either eating more than you think

Or you are over estimating your calorie burn.

Do you weigh your foods? Do you use a HRM?

    101KG, not pounds.

Suggest you start looking at body fats - a good exercise is to weight yourself, measure your bf%, and then based on this calc the amount in weight of body fat v's lean weight. You should see this changing, even although your weight doesn't move!

My biggest mistake is training and hoping for weight loss and not looking at bf. When I look at this I can see the changes!

I vote for underestimation of food calories and overestimation of calories burned.

Buy a HRM (with chest strap) if you want a more accurate reading, or if you don't have the funds for that don't eat back all you've burned. So if it says you've burned 600 calories running, eat back about 400 instead.

But you should definitely buy a food scale. It doesn't need to be expensive and you don't need to use it forever, but try it out for a couple of months so you can see where you're going wrong.

No, I am not eating more than what I think I actually put everything in dairy sometimes its 1900-2300 but I try to make it 2300 calories, Because Its hard to eat healthy calories..
I do weigh my food sometimes.. and I don't have a HRM.
And yes I do measure but its stays the same too.
And I use treadmill and stationary bike to mix between exercises.
