Food weirdness - like this, but not that?

Do you have any strange food habits that just defy explanation?

Case in point - me :glasses:

I love peanuts in shell and peanut sauce (like they serve in Asian restaurants). Peanuts in salads are cool too.

Peanut butter - CAN'T STAND the stuff. Even the smell of it makes me

I will eat olive bread, and olives on a pizza. Olives themselves... bleuuuuurgh...

Anyone else have weird food blips like this?

Usually when it comes to fruit and fruit flavours.

Would eat an orange but orange flavoured products repulse me. Same with grapes.
Love passionfruit flavoured stuff but can't stand the actual fruit. Haha.

I hate cheese in general but mascarpone in tiramisu, mozarella on pizza & cream cheese in a smoked salmon bagel - they're all yum.

Hate beef but love lasagna and wagyu in all forms  tataki, steak, hotpots, mm.

Hate milk but love icecream, yogurt and in coffee.

Love raisins/sultanas by themselves but not in cookies or baked good.

Despise tomatoes, could probably eat 80% of food with ketchup on it.
I can deal with baby tomatoes, but the big kind...just blurgh!

I hate all coconut and coconut products except for fresh coconut-freshly cracked open.
No coconut shreds or cake or coconut in granola or candy bars.
But I am ok with Thai foods made with coconut milk.

Hate American style ham (like the stuff that comes in the foil, the stuff that some people serve for holidays), but love prosciutto, bacon, and pork ...

That reminds me, I went to Red Mango the other day and had the white peach frozen yogurt-it was really good-it tasted like the real thing!

Hmm, this is a great question! All I can think of is tomatoes. I can't do without them in salads or on sandwiches, but I could never eat them plain. My husband eats them just sliced with salt and pepper and the thought makes me cringe.

I hate milk but love cheese, yogurt, ice cream. I like bananas but hate banana flavored things, like banana bread and banana pudding. I like alcohol in a glass but hate alcohol infused desserts, like crepes Suzettes or baba au rhum.

I'm weird about tomatoes, too - cannot *stand* them raw (even on a pizza), they make me dry retch, but I absolutely LOVE tomato sauce and tomato soup. Very odd....

And the other one is pork. Bacon is probably my favourite food and I could eat it with *every* meal... but I get very queasy at even the sight of a pork chop or ham. Definitely weird.

Cooked onions? Yes, please, on almost anything that isn't a dessert.

    Raw onions? Pass.

I love cherry-flavored things, but am really grossed out by fresh cherries. It's probably because I think of maraschino cherries, and ewwww.

I love tomato-based sauces (except ketchup) but can only handle tomatoes in a dish if they're not very large and noticeable. Slice of tomato on a sandwich? NEVER.

(To be fair, I like a decent amount of veggies now but still can't stand them raw whatsoever.)
