I recently discovered that I am powerless over food - I know everything there is to know but still eat when I am not hungry and feel powerless. Am starting to rethink my approach to eating and am looking for suggestions as to the best way to use this website without getting discouraged. Any thoughts?

Maybe log everything, open your diary and get feedback from folks on how to replace the junk with better selections to start. Take control of what you're eating.
I bet there's stuff you'd like that you don't consider. Get help figuring out what they are, then surround yourself with them.0 -
Record your food daily. Start to exercise and record that too. Get yourself some friends on the site and join a group or two of likeminded people. There are groups for amounts of weight to lose, challenges, etc. Go browse and find a couple that look interesting, join them, and participate.
By stating that you are powerless over food, you make yourself a victim. If you are a victim then you aren't accountable for what you eat. That is B.S. You are not powerless over food. It doesn't jump into your mouth on its own. Nor do I believe you have anyone force feeding you.
The best way to make a change is to set a goal and write it down. Making it public so you are accountable also helps. You have to make a decision to change and take charge of what goes into your body. No one else can do that but you.0
