Here is the text from the article:
Drink Water, Flush Fat
By drinking half an ounce of water for every pound you weigh, every day, you will help your body use up its stored fat. It's time to take advantage of this great "fat-burning" substance!
Here's how your body uses the water you drink.
Water enables your kidneys to efficiently detoxify the blood. When under-hydrated kidneys don't have enough water to fully detoxify blood, the liver is redirected away from its own tasks to help. One of the liver's tasks is "lipolysis," metabolizing fat into a form that can be used as energy. when it is recruited to help the kidneys detoxify the blood, the liver is unable to perform lipolysis. By drinking more water, you enable healthy kidneys to better detoxify the blood, which in turn allows the liver to metabolize the fat through lipolysis. The result is more energy and less fat!
Drinking water helps with fluid retention.
When the body perceives starvation, it retains fat. When it perceives dehydration, it retains water. Diuretics are often prescribed to overcome fluid retention, and they achieve this by flushing out the water your body is retaining. In the process of flushing away excess water, diuretics also flush out minerals. The body responds by storing water again as soon as it can.
Often, your body will retain water in an effort to keep itself diluted in the presence of excessive amounts of sodium chloride (salt), an over-utilized mineral in our diets. The best and most natural way to flush excess fluid out of the body is to drink water. As you drink more water, you begin to dilute and flush out salt through the kidneys, filtering and dispensing the sodium chloride. Once the body is able to flush out the salt, there is no longer any need for it to store/retain fluid!
To that point, don’t be fooled by articles and advertisements stating that energy drinks and soda will hydrate your body or quench your thirst! All energy drinks and sodas are filled with sodium and/or sugar. They are solutions, and they don’t count as water because your body has to filter out the sugar and salt before the water can be used. Only water “counts” as water, and to hydrate yourself, you should be drinking at least half an ounce for every pound that you weigh, every day.
Drinking enough water can help reduce the perception of hunger.
Our meals have gotten bigger and thus our stomachs have expanded through the years. When the stomach empties out, your brain receives a notification that it’s time to eat. By drinking enough water, you can suppress your appetite, because your stomach is never completely empty. As a result, it is easier to eat smaller portions and still feel satisfied.
Here’s what to do!
Drink water throughout the day. Calculate the number of ounces you will need to drink per day. For example, if you weigh 140 pounds, you should drink 70 ounces of water per day (approximately two liters). Purchase a fairly large water bottle or jug, and carry it with you. Fill it only when empty, and note the number of times you filled it.
When you regularly drink enough water, your “natural thirst” will return. Natural thirst is when your body is aware of its need to re-hydrate. Whether you notice a slightly dry mouth, or a subconscious thought, you will know that it’s time to drink some water.

I totally agree! Thanks for sharing that fabulous article. I downed a quart of H2O while reading it. I once read where someone said that drinking water is like keeping enough coolant in your car. Without it, it just won't work right..and neither will our bodies. So here's to water! :drinker: Drink up!0

Great post! Water is a dieters second best friend! (After MFP, of course!) Depending on your environment and activity level you may need even more than half an ounce per pound! You really need to know all the symptoms of dehydration in order to know if you're getting enough or not.
Another thing water is great for is keeping joints properly hydrated and thus can reduce joint pain! For people who are exercising frequently this is absolutely key!
Also, a lot of headaches are primarily caused by dehydration, and as you are trying to lose weight your body has even more need for water and may lead to more dehydration headaches if you don't drink enough water!
Here's another great article to read about the importance of water:

Glad you all enjoyed the article. Life could not exist without the amazing properties of water, and neither can it be sustained without it. So grab a water bottle if you haven't already and be sure to stay hydrated in all circumstances. Your body will only thank you for it!0
