Not my own worst enemy anymore?

I ran a half marathon a couple of weeks ago. I just got a notice that the pictures were up on the website so I went to take a look. I could not *believe* how fat I looked in the pictures! I've even lost 8 lbs already so then I was thinking "Ohmygawd how fat would I have looked if I *hadn't* lost that 8 lbs!!!"

It completely freaked me out and made my want to curl up into a ball in shame...and THEN I realized:

A) I've lost 8 lbs. It was slow but it didn't hurt and I'm well set up to keep losing.
B) I ran..and finished...a half marathon. Not too shabby (even if I'm not the thinnest in the race).

So call this the mini-est of NSV's ever, but I'm just gonna keep on truckin'!

Have a good day, everybody.

A 'NSV' of any type is always cause for celebration. Good job on the 1/2.

Congrats on the half. I'm not quite ready for one of those yet, so I'm a bit in awe. Also, congrats doubly for stopping yourself from beating yourself up.

Congrats on the weight loss AND running a half marathon ....... outstanding !

It was a "fat photo" that finally got me off my butt ....... I don't know what took me so long, but once I did finally start making changes, the weight came off, slow but sure ......... six years later that same photo is still keeping me motivated :drinker:

    Keep on truckin' !

Compare it to a picture of you BEFORE you lost the 8 lbs. and ran the half marathon and be inspired by the changes so far!! Great job changing your mindset before you could sabotage yourself AND for finishing your half-marathon!!

Be proud, not everyone can say they finished a 1/2 marathon or have even tried to do it. I have my first 1/2 the end of October. Just think of how your 1/2 marathon pictures will change as you keep running. CONGRATS on taking care of business and completing the 1/2!!!

Not being your own worst enemy? I'd call that the hugest of NSVs! Congratulations! Also on the half; I've got my first one in 2 weeks. It's rough!
