I've just heard of this diet where you can lose 18 pounds in 4 days. Is this real? If so, is there anyone out there who's tried it?? What's it like?

Even if you DID lose 18 pounds in four days, it's certainly not 18 pounds of fat. A pound of fat is 3500 calories. You would have to eat 15,750 calories below maintenance each day. Meaning if you have a BMR of 2000 calories, you would have to eat nothing and burn 13,750 calories every day to lose that. Which is impossible.
Don't go on crazy fad diets that sound too good to be true. You might drop some water weight, but you can also do that by starting a sensible diet. Eat in a way that is sustainable for the rest of your life. Otherwise, you'll gain it back.0 -
no, it is not real..more than likely a recipe for disaster..
just eat in a calorie deficit, and work out and you will lose weight....0 -

Quoted to emphasize. It's just not mathematically possible. If there are any testimonials, they're all lies.
I mean, I guess if you had some really voracious flesh eating bacteria chewing you up, you might be down 18 pounds in 4 days, maybe. I'm not really sure how much they eat, but maybe if you had them in every inch of your body, that might do it. But otherwise, nope.0 -

wait I stand corrected this is possible...
take some chicken and leave it on your counter for three days and then proceed to eat it ...you will have horrible food poisoning and will lose 18 pounds in four days...0 -
I lost 18 lbs in 4 days was when I gave birth to my son.0

Maybe not a diet, but surgery...0

Sure if you dehydrated yourself but the weightloss would be temporary and you could easily die.0

I suppose one could cut off a leg?
Having said that though if an individual was very obese, it leaves to reason that perhaps if he/she would fast and use laxatives to clear out every shred of biomatter in the bowel, use diuretics to drop a significant amount of water ... perhaps it could be done.0 -
"if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
applies to pretty much everything, diets included.0 -
