I'm... not sure if I'm putting this in the right forum, but heck I don't care lol
I work at peanut sorting, and I was working yesterday, and right now my arms ache sooo bad! I hoped someone has some kind of a suggestion what to do?
I'll explain a bit... when I work there's a treadmill kinda thing that transports the peanuts, and there's a metallic border that's a bit higher. now, that border is too high to hold your arms up while working, so everyone who works there just lays their arms on it. well, I also did, and now the pain is almost unbearable at that spot... that spot is about 2 inches from my elbow...
so umm.. if you guys know something that could help I'd be forever grateful..

I don't really know. If the metal part is stationary I would try to add some kind of padding to the rail or perhaps pads for your arm at that spot, Maybe a piece of that foam pipe insulation people use in the winter, It has a slit through it so you would be able to put it on the rail and take it off after your shift. They look like a pool noodle except smaller in diameter and black and hollow. Find in the hardware store. Good Luck0

OSHA? Seriously, you might want to get a step if you can. If they don't let you bring it in, mention OSHA!0

Help with the work situation or the current pain?0

The noodle sounds good - but the other alternative is to hold your arms up yourself. you probably will be more efficient at your job if you do. I have been known to grade fruit in a similar way to you - the ones who rest their arms don't get as much done. They also often only use one hand.0

Sounds like one of three things, infection, allergic reaction, or just sore from rubbing the metal. If infection or sore, wash with soap and water, dry, and put some antibiotic ointment. If allergic reaction, some over the counter benadryl, and some cortisone cream might help. If it gets worse, go to the doctor. I agree with the step stool thing. That would probably help. Hope it gets better soon!0

Could it just be bruising?0

thanks guys!
someone said I should hold my hands up - thing is the rail is too high, and if I hold my hands up it's really hard to get work done. sometimes I stand up instead of sitting, but standing for 3 hours is really really hard - tables are low and I'm quite tall lol...
I'll try seeing if I can get some kind of padding, and thanks for whoever suggested a pain relief
no, it could not be bruising, I didn't hit my harms, I just rested them there. I kinda suspect I have a 'soft spot' at that place, because I'm the only one getting this kind of pain (I asked around)
again, thanks a lot! >w<0
