Fads; what have you tried to lose weight / shape up?

I'm talking juice-detoxes, SkinnyMeTea, protein products, caffeine body scrubs...
Bad experiences?
And any good ones? haha

Well, years ago when I was in my teens and my twenties, I tried every fad diet under the sun. Every bit I lost I gained back, plus more, once I returned to regular eating,

I've never tried the ones above. How is a caffeine body scrub supposed to help you lose weight? Maybe it's because you're scrubbing with the coffee rather than drinking it with milk or creamer?

Seriously, diets are temporary, but changing your heating habits is a lifestyle change. All you have to do is burn more calories than you eat and you will lose weight. This is true every single time.

I am most successful when I keep track of my calorie intake and my exercise. Any time I don't track (I learned to write down meals and keep track of exercise ten years ago from a trainer), I end up gaining weight because I'm not paying attention and eating more than I think I am.

I just don't believe in diets, or the diet mentality.

Just read through the forums and you will see all of the silly approaches. Currently, there is one claiming that body lotion is the cause of weight gain. There have been others, such as existing on nothing but the sun. However, if you can learn to filter through all of the crap, there is a ton of great information.

There is a 'Frank Body Scrub' fad at the moment so thought I'd mention it. haha It's meant to get rid of stretch marks / cellulite. But no evidence of this I can find! I agree with you, if you change your lifestyle all of those things will sort themselves out eventually. But interesting to know if any one HAS had results and for others to know what does NOT work and save some money.
  • I've tried them ALL. Master Cleanse (lost 15 lbs) Cabbage Soup Diet... That was back in the day though. And the weight came right back.

The only thing that really works is to not eat like **** and to move that bod.
  • Wait we can't say **** on here?! That's no fun. How about if I say it in German? Scheisse
  • Woo-hoo!

    IF/ Eat Stop Eat

it was a good experience but there was also bad ones with it. there were days where i found my self thinking about food and when i'll eat, but the days (most days too) where this wasn't the problem, IF, especialy the Eat Stop eat method of IF actually had positive affects on my energy levels at around about the 18th+ hour of the fast. It also helped me lose some weight and get down to a lower recorded BF% as i used the eat stop eat method to create most of the calorie deficit
