Okay, well last year in July i started outpatient treatment for bulimia. I finished in december and things have been really rocky since then, almost a year since i was diagnosed and i've still been struggling. Around a week ago i started mechanical eating, a technique i was taught through therapy. So, here's my second real attempt at recovery. I'm using My fitness pal as a way to record all my meals, make sure i get the right calories as i dont want to go over and hopefully lose the weight i gained at treatment which i really didn't need to gain. I gained 50 lbs when i was already overweight, so, at the minute i'm 5 foot and weigh 190lbs.
Here to lose the weight, recover and hopefully develoip healthier eating habits. I'm here to support anybody who might be going through the same thing as me or anybody who even just wants a chat.

I also am recovering from disordered eating; however, my family never thought it was a problem when I was younger, so I have been working at putting myself in a much more positive mindset over the last two years. MFP definitely helps, especially with ensuring you're eating well. It's always a struggle, but it does get easier as long as you keep a positive attitude towards it.0

Recovery can be super difficult, especially if/when you know you're at a higher weight than you should be. I've been in recover for almost four years, and it still gets tempting to just fall back on old habits if I'm having a stressful week and decide to take it out by eating "bad" food. But just remember that your health is more important than anything, your body needs nutrition to become strong, and the habits you build and maintain will define you overall way more than one or two or ten "bad" days.0

Recovery is incredibly hard love, but it will get better. Everyone with an eating disorder has their bad days and their good days. Just don't beat yourself up if you have bad day, it is completely natural for us to relapse, it's a part of recovery. I struggle every day with temptations, but I have recovered a lot, and i'm proud of that considering where I was 5 years ago. Each year seems get better and easier. I gained a lot of unwanted weight when I was in an outpatient program also, but if you focus on eating lots of fruits and veggies and avoid all those foods that you used to binge on, it might be easier for you, and you might actually lose some weight gradually, but everyone is different.
Feel free to add me! It would be nice having some support with this disorder, it's not something that just anyone can understand, it can be very painful and complex at times.
